my daughter is a fussy eater, but the taste of the beef in lemon seems to have gotten to her in a way my 'regular' cooking doesnt. she almost ate all of it on her own.

Not the steak diane recipe that I have made. Where are the carmelized onions? Where is the brandy that not only helps gives the sauce its flavor but gives you the dinner with a show?

  • OK But...

Good ingredients... BUT.. a steak and cooking it anywhere near the range/oven should never be done - unless you have one of those fancy grills on your range. Try this with chicken - much better, and healthier. Or marinating the steak in the ingredients and grilling the steak, then make a really easy pan sauce with the marinade. Honestly.. steaks should only be grilled - anyone that tells you otherwise has no clue what they're talking about.

i live in wisconsin. to buy 4 ribeye steaks would cost over $30.00 easy. meanwhile tenderloin(trimmed) is $5.99 a pound. do the math.

I have made Steak Diane in the past...as a reviewer has pointed out it was made with Tenderloin/Mignon. However, it is the preparation not the cut that makes it Steak Diane. This is a recipe for the average household that doesn't want to spend a truck load of money. Bravo! For a great dish that doesn't break the bank.

  • interesting recipe

but a bit complex. I ussually prepare steak diane by boiling a skirt steak for about 90 mintes, lighty dust the cuts with powdered kosher salt. Wait a few minutes and serve. Works well with ketchup and my kids love it.
