  • Modified just a bit..

About an hour before cooking the pork, marinate the chops in sweet orange juice. I like to use orange marmalade or even plum jelly when making a sauce for pork. For this receipe I used marmalade, and topped the finished dish with fresh grated orange peel before serving. Really brightened the flavor.

  • Different Take on the same Idea

I like to dip the pork chops in eggs first then in Italian breadcrumbs. I then cook them in a skillet with olive oil. It is so good!

  • was it supposed to be purple?!

    hemi_powered4x4 - March 3, 2008 10:32:38 AM PST
don't know if the sauce was supposed to be purple or not, but it made it look like it wasn't going to taste good. the chops were ok, the broth flavor didn't seem to penetrate into the meat, so it was a bit bland. won't try this again.

  • Confused about drain instructions...

    Kieran J - March 24, 2008 01:49:02 PM PST
The recipe instructs to brown the chops in oil, then to drain add onions and cook until... then later to add the broth back and boil.

Does this mean right after the chops are browned, to remove the liquid then add the onions to a dry pan with the cops and caramelyze the onion THEN add the broth back... is that correct?

Cook this alot, I also use red plum jelly, no ginger. Just a little tyme and or rosemary makes it sweet and savory!

  • Yummy!

    dimpledsmile83 - June 9, 2008 10:42:18 AM PST
The dish was really tasty, I had a very picky eater (a friend of mine) stop by and try it and she loved it. I put a little less jam than asked and I added a little yellow curry to the sauce and it just kicked it up a notch...anyway, it was very good ;)

  • Great dish

Besides hamburger helper and other quick box dishes i'm not much of a cook; but this recipe was simple and it was incredibly delicious. I was proud of myself and got great reviews from my girlfriend and her roommates.

It's not something that I'd really expect it be as heavenly as I think of. Tasty though, but will not try again. :-)
