1. Ingredients

  1. 1 (15 ounce) box Pillsbury(R) refrigerated pie crust, softened as directed on box
  2. 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  3. 3 tablespoons sugar
  4. 1 teaspoon vanilla
  5. 3 eggs
  6. 1 (15.1 ounce) box Pillsbury(R) fudge supreme hot fudge swirl premium brownie mix
  7. 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  8. 2 tablespoons water
  9. 1/2 cup chopped pecans

2. Cooking Directions

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Place pie crust in 9-inch glass pie pan as directed on box for One-Crust Filled Pie.
  2. In medium bowl with electric mixer, beat cream cheese, sugar, vanilla and 1 of the eggs on medium speed until smooth; set aside.
  3. Reserve hot fudge packet from brownie mix for topping. In large bowl, beat brownie mix, oil, 1 tablespoon of the water and remaining 2 eggs 50 strokes with spoon.
  4. Spread 1/2 cup brownie mixture in bottom of crust-lined pan. Spoon and carefully spread cream cheese mixture over brownie layer. Top with remaining brownie mixture; spread evenly. Sprinkle with pecans.
  5. Bake 40 to 50 minutes or until center is puffed and crust is golden brown. After 15 to 20 minutes of baking, cover crust edge with strips of foil to prevent excessive browning (pie may have cracks on surface).
  6. In small microwavable bowl, microwave hot fudge from packet on High 30 seconds. Stir in remaining tablespoon water. Drizzle fudge over top of pie. Cool completely, about 3 hours. Store in refrigerator.

Yield: 8 servings

First and foremost - what has this world come to? People arguing over a WORD? We spend so much time worrying about what everyone else is doing these days.

Anyway - I like the fact that some ingredients can be store bought - if you don't want the store bought items; make them from scratch. I'm going to make this recipe this weekend - I'm pregnant and it sounds SUPER yummy!!!!

Nice. I disagree with the previous poster who was disapointed with the lack of homemade recipes. I love that you can buy a ready made crust, that was a big part of this recipe's appeal, for me.

As far as "boughten" being a word, just because it exists as a word doesn't mean it's good english. 'Ain't' is a word, it's in the dictionary..however, it's just bad grammar.

  • It's from a Pillsbury Bakeoff....

Why are people dinging this recipe due to the amount of store bought products? It's from a Pillsbury bakeoff competition....you are supposed to use pre-packaged Pillsbury products. Duh!

  • If it tastes good . . . that's all that matters!!

    Bill - March 29, 2007 07:00:48 AM PST
Ok, listen, I'm not a chef, or short-order cook, or anything that comes even close to cooking for a living. All I know is that I love the sweets . . . and this one looks good. I haven't tried it yet, as I just found it today, but I'll probably make it.

Now, as for this store 'boughten' stuff or not; People, listen - here's a newsflash for you. First, who gives a crap!!! If you actually care, then here's some advice - GET A FREAKING LIFE!!!!!! Second, I was an English minor in college, and I still couldn't care less - therefore, should any of you care?! Again - GET A FREAKING LIFE!!!!!! And for those who think I'm a jerk - GOOD - you have the right to think whatever you want, plus I couldn't care less!

Not to mention, but if it saves me or others time to get something in a recipe that is already pre-made, GREAT! Gives me time to do other things. If you are so about making everything from scratch - here's an idea - destroy the home that you live in, and then make a new one from scratch with, oh, I don't know, some twigs & mud, and paste it all together with your own saliva. Heck, you made it from scratch, so it must be better!

    Have a winning day!!!
