If you\'re looking for a really easy simple pie recipe to make this holiday season... you can\'t get any simpler than this. If you can make instant chocolate pudding you have all the skills you need. I do disagree however that the crushed candy canes mixed in makes this peppermint. I found the texture a tad off putting and would be sure to use less candy cane in the filled next time (about half.) Personally I \'m not fond of the hard crunchy, possibly sharp texture mixed in with the smooth pudding.
If you would really like to make this a peppermint chocolate pudding pie, pick up some peppermint extract in your baking isle. You can add 1/4 to a full teaspoon or more. I suggest adding about 1/4, taste test and then decide from there.

This pie was SO easy to make and it tasted delicious. I am on LA weightloss and used sugar free pudding and fat free coolwhip. What a delicious treat. My other family members loved it too! It wasn\'t very minty tasting, so I might try adding some peppermint drops next time in the cool whip. I will certainly make it again!

My pudding didn\'t exactly look like the picture, but I had my sisters be my guinea pigs to try them out. They loved it! Awesome, great to know I did so well on the second pie I have ever made! I am making this for my 2 family parties I have to attend this week for Xmas.
Tip: Have a kid crush those candy canes for ya. I tried wacking candy canes with a spoon, and unfortuntately I wasn\'t crazy enough! Hahaha
