  • Not just Mini Tacos.. MINI TACO SALADS!!!!

    jovigirl3748 - February 2, 2007 02:25:57 PM PST
I have made this item before, but instead of making it "messy", we made them like mini taco salads. We made them slightly larger, we used fajita sized tortillas. I rolled up foil into a ball, placed it on a cookie sheet, then draped the tortilla over the foil and let it cook til brown. Once they cool, you are able to pull the foil right out, and it is perfect sized for a taco salad! Put all the ingredients inside, eat out of them with a fork, and then eat the shell at the end! This was a really cool idea, My kids loved it!!

  • Good idea

The tortilla bowls are a cute idea. I wonder if there is a way to make them cone shaped for a more grab and go type of meal for parties?

I just thought of a way to make a 2 bite finger food version... use circle cookie cutters and cut 2-3 circles out of the fajita size tortillas. Then use them in mini muffin tins. That would make more of a party friendly food because like another poster said... a taco is a taco is a taco... not much changing them but this is a start!

  • Fun Idea

Tacos are tacos are tacos. You can't really change up the classic recipe too much, but the mini-bowl is definitely a fun way to eat them. And of course they're messy that's what makes them fun! Lighten up people.

  • I can't wait to try this this recipe

the mini taco bowls sound like a great ideal,, I have bought the taco shells that you have to put over a card board cup thing like,, but it takes a lot of time, to put all the card board bowls together,, using a muffin tin sounds like it would be much easier,, and will take less time, also,, I can';t wait to try this,,it sounds like fun, and looks so cute how it is done..
