  • Try this to cut time further...

If your REALLY in a rush, substitute the kidney beans and ground beef and it\'s seasonings for a can of Hormels Chili with beans. Basically the same results, but with little effort and a major cut in time spent. Kraft doesn\'t own Hormel, hence the reason they don\'t suggest canned chili..lol. =)

When I make Chili Mac - I make a box of Kraft Mac -n Cheese. I cook the noodles and drain. I add the cheese sauce and mix in a can of Nalley\'s hot Chili with beans and a can of the regular chili with beans.

  • Not bad...

This is by no means a gourmet meal, however it is tasty. We usually just use spaghetti noodles, homemade or Stag Chili, diced onions and shredded cheddar for our Chili Mac, but this was an okay change.

  • Pretty good!

I added a chopped onion and some garlic while I was browning the meat for a little more flavor. I ended up adding pepper, salt and garlic powder too and it came out pretty good! Much tastier than the stuff in the box!

  • Vegetarians will love it too

I want to recommend using fake meat instead of the ground beef. They make this amazing taco/burrito flavored ground meat substitute and I use it all the time for chili and lazy taco\'s.

No I know it isn\'t vegan, but if you love chili and you love mac n cheese this is the best recipe for you.

  • Delicious and quick

    trinityblitz2002 - January 24, 2008 04:24:12 PM PST
I loved that it was a quick and easy meal to make. It produces a good quantity. Serves 5.

It was tastier two days later though!

The other thing is use lots of cheese and sour cream and it will be ever better....... I used the whole bag and container.......
