  1. 1 (7.25 ounce) package KRAFT Macaroni & Cheese Dinner
  2. 1 pound extra lean ground beef
  3. 1 tablespoon chili powder
  4. 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  5. 1 (14.5 ounce) can stewed tomatoes, undrained
  6. 1 (16 ounce) can kidney beans, drained
  7. 1/3 cup BREAKSTONE'S Reduced Fat or KNUDSEN Light Sour Cream
  8. 1/3 cup KRAFT 2% Milk Shredded Reduced Fat Sharp Cheddar Cheese

2. Cooking Directions

  1. Prepare Dinner as directed on package, using Light Preparation directions.
  2. Meanwhile, brown meat with chili powder and cumin in large nonstick skillet on medium heat. Add tomatoes with their liquid and the beans; simmer 3 min., stirring occasionally.
  3. Stir in prepared dinner; cook 3 to 5 min. or until heated through, stirring occasionally. Top with sour cream and cheese.

Yield: 6 servings

The delicious, cheesy taste of hearty chili and creamy macaroni and cheese all rolled into one great meal!

Notes:

Jazz It Up

Stir in 2 Tbsp. chopped fresh cilantro.

Substitute

Substitute KRAFT SUPERMAC & Cheese Pasta and Sauce for KRAFT Macaroni & Cheese Dinner.

    If your REALLY in a rush, substitute the kidney beans and ground beef and it's seasonings for a can of Hormels Chili with beans. Basically the same results, but with little effort and a major cut in time spent. Kraft doesn't own Hormel, hence the reason they don't suggest canned chili..lol. =)

    When I make Chili Mac - I make a box of Kraft Mac -n Cheese. I cook the noodles and drain. I add the cheese sauce and mix in a can of Nalley's hot Chili with beans and a can of the regular chili with beans.

    This is by no means a gourmet meal, however it is tasty. We usually just use spaghetti noodles, homemade or Stag Chili, diced onions and shredded cheddar for our Chili Mac, but this was an okay change.

    and to give it some extra yum, try using crushed frito's on top for a frito pie / chili mac hybrid
