2. Cooking Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Mix meat, stuffing mix, 1-1/4 cups of the water and the onions until well blended. Shape into six 1/2-inch-thick oval patties. Place on 15x10x1-inch baking pan.
  2. Bake 25 min. or until cooked through (160 degrees F).
  3. Meanwhile, spray large nonstick skillet with cooking spray. Add mushrooms; cook on medium-high heat 5 min. or until lightly browned, stirring occasionally. Add barbecue sauce and remaining 1/4 cup water. Reduce heat to low. Cook 1 to 2 min. or until sauce is heated through. Serve over the patties.

Yield: 6 servings

3. Still Hungry?

This saucy, smothered steak is big on flavor but easy on the waistline and surprisingly simple to make.

Notes:

Shortcut

To save time, look for washed and pre-sliced mushrooms now available in the produce section of your grocery store.

Substitute

Prepare as directed, using KRAFT Hickory Smoke Barbecue Sauce.

  • Real Salisbury Steak!

You can get round steak at the market already tenderised. The price is cheap. Get 4 to 6 small steaks. That will fit your family. Brown fast in skillet, on both sides. Turn skillet heat to low. Put either brown gravy or tomato sauce all over the meat and simmer. Make baked potatos, top with real butter and some grated chedder cheese and your choice of steamed vegetables. This is a crowd pleaser. Easy to make and no hot oven.

I personally really enjoyed this one, the only thing was the bbq sauce, I dont think of salisbury and bbq sauce, but it still went together.
