1. Ingredients

  1. 1 (18 ounce) package OREO Chocolate Sandwich Cookies, divided
  2. 1/4 cup butter, melted
  3. 4 (8 ounce) packages PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened
  4. 1 cup sugar
  5. 1 teaspoon vanilla
  6. 1 cup BREAKSTONE'S or KNUDSEN Sour Cream
  7. 4 eggs

2. Cooking Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F if using a silver 9-inch springform pan (or to 300 degrees F if using a dark nonstick 9-inch springform pan). Place 30 of the cookies in resealable plastic bag. Flatten bag to remove excess air, then seal bag. Finely crush cookies by rolling a rolling pin across the bag. Place in bowl. Add butter; mix well. Press firmly onto bottom of pan.
  2. Beat cream cheese, sugar and vanilla in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until well blended. Add sour cream; mix well. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating just until blended after each addition. Chop or crush remaining cookies. Gently stir 1-1/2 cups of the chopped cookies into cream cheese batter. Pour over crust; sprinkle with the remaining chopped cookies.
  3. Bake 1 hour and 10 min. or until center is almost set. Cool. Refrigerate 3 hours or overnight. Cut into 16 pieces. Store leftover cheesecake in refrigerator.

Yield: 16 servings

3. Still Hungry?

Everybody's two favorites -- cheesecake and Oreo cookies are combined to make this fabulous cookie laced cheesecake a real WOW!

Making the batter was fine, no problem crushing the cookies but this "Easy Oreo Cheesecake" recipe is almost identical to "Cookies \'N Cream Cheesecake" (also found on YAHOO! Food) with a few differences: The cookies \'n cream one tells you to bake the crust 10 minutes (easy oreo doesn\'t) and to only cook your cheesecake for an hour (easy oreo says to cook it an hour and 10 minutes) both until the center is almost set.

Both recipes say to change the temperature to 300 degrees F if using a dark nonstick pan, which I was using, and I changed the temperature. But even after cooking if for an hour an a half the center still wasn\'t set. If the time for the cheesecake needs to be changed depending on the pan, then the recipe should state so.

I have yet tot try it since I\'m trying to cook it a little more to make the center not raw, but if it still tastes nearly as good as the batter, then I will be satisfied.
