Rather use 1 1/2 lbs. of lean ground beef, use instead: 1/2 lbs. of lean ground beef, 1/2 lbs. of ground pork and a 1/2 lbs. of ground veal. Be sure to blend all three different types of ground meat together well.

Also, you may wish to switch the chicken flavor STOVE TOP Stuffing Mix with Pork flavor STOVE TOP Stuffing Mix instead. Considering you're preparing a meal with "red meats", you may enhance it with the additional flavoring the pork stuffing offers over a poultry seasoned stuffing. You're stuffing Meat Loaf, not a "bird"!

I've used these three different types of meats for many years. I learned it from my mother, who was a Food Service Supervisor

It is in a can, or a Jar, next to the tomatoe sauce or the ketchup. it looks just like ketchup, but has a kick, and a sweetness.

  • How I love meatloaf let me cont the ways/ On the great divide

    vcstudent - July 2, 2007 07:04:31 PM PST
Meatloaf specifically this one is wonderful. The clili and soup combination let you know you're alive without overpowering you. I usually save meatloaf for fall and winter hearty meals but the ingedients make it light enough for the summer fun section of my recipe collection.
On dividing ingredients. Dividing liquids is simply removing part of it and using it another way. In order to have a true experience of a recipe you need the right tools or creative math. The easiest way to divide liquids is to use a measuring cup of the one or two cup vaiety with graduated markings (wet).
A 8 oz can of soup divided in half would have the measuring cup filled to the 4 oz. line for the beef and four ounce remainder for the chili sauce.
For dry ingredients use that stack of cups from 1/4 to 1 cup (dry) and spoon out the part needed for best results.
