Cooking Know-How
Sprinkle pork strips with 1 tsp. cornstarch before stir-frying for beautiful browning.
That\'s a pretty plain stir fry. Add some water chestnuts, some snap peas and a little bit of chopped zucchini and you\'ll be in business. I\'d also recommend adding a quarter teaspoon of cayenne to give it some kick. None of these things will drastically increase caloric or fat content, and it will certainly liven the dish up.

Normally, I am a veggie or a fruit eater, but my companion is a meat eater and I don\'t like to cook a lot of big meals so I try to balance it out. This tastes good with steamed rice. and the recipe is flexible enough so I can add other vegetables with it.

First of all, meat is healthy for you... everyone needs protein. You can get protein other ways but that doesn\'t make meat a bad thing...
Anyway, I usually add mushrooms, bok choy, broccoli.... if there\'s a asian food section i\'ll see whatever they\'ve got then pick and choose more things to add ;)
I also have made a sauce for a long time... all you do is mix cornstarch with water (before cooking, so you can mix it evenly and not make it lumpy) and add soy sauce to it... I dunno how much I use, I can kind of tell by the color if there is too much or too little soy sauce in it.
Then you just add it when all your ingredients are done cooking... maybe add some fake crab meat at this point as well and wait for the sauce to thicken....

I agree it could use a few more veggies....but for a more authentic taste use sesame seed oil for flavoring.....
