  • Really good, BUT.....!!!

    janalo - June 26, 2007 06:33:37 AM PST
This is good. I added mushrooms, onions and peppers to the chicken on the bottom because I just love those things in any casserole type dish.

HOWEVER... the nutritional information is ALL wrong. I believe they left out the chicken. It is actually about 240 calories and 6 grams of fat rather than 140 and 2. Since I\'m on Weight Watchers, this mattered to me. And unfortunately, I didn\'t stop to figure it out until I\'d already eaten two servings instead of one because it was so low!

  • Will have it again

    mz s - October 2, 2007 07:05:43 PM PST
This was good and quick. I thought the stovetop a little overpowering, but not much you can do about that. We will have it again. If you enter the name of the recipe into Google, it will take you to Kraft and you can get the sodium and correct calories, etc.

  • Yummo! ...as Rachel would say!

    jax5 - October 2, 2007 05:01:24 AM PST
This has become a favorite with my family, especially my two teenagers. It ends up with a little bit of a pizza taste. I have also tried skipping the step of adding the spices on top of the chicken and replaced it with using a can of Italian flavored diced tomatoes. I make sure I stock up on Stove Top Stuffing and diced tomatoes when they are on sale and then I always have the ingredients on hand.

  • Nutritional Info Incorrect

    bbwfwb - October 3, 2007 09:45:57 PM PST
Stuffing and cheese, NOT 2 grams of carbs. Beware, do your own label reading and calculations when looking at any receipe. This was very misleading for carb watchers, very misleading. Also fat and protein information was incorrect.

This is a great tasting, easy to fix dinner. I serve with a green salad or steamed green beans. I like the blend of spices

  • Quick and Easy

    Heather - October 1, 2007 07:24:27 PM PST
This was a wonderful dish that was on the table under 1hr.
My family loved it, the only thing I did to it was add extra garlic.

It is hard to incorporate a marinara tasting dish into our meals because my husband doesn\'t like it but he enjoyed this one.

Thanks for the quick and easy recipe. I will make it again.

  • the carb count is ALL WRONG!

    ladyc - July 8, 2008 02:51:31 PM PST
stove top alone has 21 carbs, so divide by 6 servings that\'s 3 1/2. Then add the tomato sauce that has over 3 carbs for serving. (14 per 14oz can) Cheese has one carb per serving. You are way off. That\'s 7 carbs already!

  • nutrition info

    Katie P - July 8, 2008 01:53:22 PM PST
The nutritional info on here is all wrong. I went to google like another person suggested and found the recipe on the krafts website it should be Cal 310 Carbs 25g Dietary Fiber 2g Fat 7g protein 33g and suger 4g. In case any of you were wondering how this was so healthy.

  • It will do.......

    nanners72 - October 14, 2007 12:23:08 AM PST
For a quick need to make dinner in a hurry, if the chicken breasts are thawed, kinda meal.

I tired this because the receipe sounded so good, but made it tonight and we all thought it was ok, and my 3 yr old daughter who eats everything, took a bite but spit it out (and I\'m a great cook). I don\'t know I might try it, but change some things to help it.
I just don\'t know how it got so many great reviews.

  • Great recipe!

    linzlou83 - October 3, 2007 09:35:56 AM PST
I\'ve made this recipe a few times and found that it takes a little longer than it says to cook the chicken all the way through. More like an hour. Definitely a family favorite!

    TERRI C - October 3, 2007 02:53:25 AM PST
I guess some will like it and some won\'t. We didn\'t. It might have been better if the tomato\'s were drained. But if you like Tomato taste in every bite and your stuffing to taste like Tomato then this is for you! It was very easy to make and I had everything in the house to make it. Maybe I will try again without the tomato\'s.

BTW...there is nothing Bruschetta about this!

    Hope you enjoy it.

  • Bruschetta???

    Erin H - October 1, 2007 03:08:24 PM PST
I think they are considering the stuffing to be the bread portion of the bruschetta and the other ingredients to be like the topping... not even close, but I guess they wanted to give it a fancy name.

  • Scanty nutritional information

    maryg - October 3, 2007 04:49:01 AM PST
I WAS going to try this recepie because it sounds and looks good but I need more, and more reliable nutritional information. If the calories and fat amounts are correct I would probably want to add more meat. Also, I need (insist on) AT LEAST the following additional nutritional information: fat breakdown (saturated, trans. poly., mono.), cholesterol, sodium and potassium.

  • Delish!

    Kristen R - July 21, 2008 01:19:13 PM PST
Not only did I love this, but so did my husband and my VERY PICKY sister, who doesn\'t eat anything. I took a reviewer\'s comment from below and added Balsalmic Vinegar. I also used a Garlic Pepper grinder all over the chicken, used the tomatoes with onions, and added lots of garlic. Also, I bought the Whole Wheat Stove Top. I will definitely be making this again!!!

  • Nutritional information incorrect

    kristarolleri - July 21, 2008 09:28:26 AM PST
Don\'t get me wrong, this is a great dish. But unfortunately, yahoo has listed the nutritional information incorrectly. I have tried to find someone to email about this, but can\'t so I am posting it in review. On yahoo, the carb count for this item is listed as 2. However when I was making it, I noticed how high the carb count was on the stuffing mix (an ingredient) and thought how can this be? I went to the official kraftfoods.com site and found the recipe. The carb count is actually 25 for this item! Biiiiig difference. I bought all the stuff and made the dish, but had to give it to neighbors to eat since our house is low carb :( I guess the fact that it was a kraft recipe should have tipped me off that it probably wasn\'t low carb ;) oh well! Hopefully I will have better luck next time!

I count carbs, and I cannot believe that the carbs are so low when there\'s bread stuffing in this recipe!

  • Easy and great tasting

    Charlotte - October 6, 2007 06:10:18 PM PST
We had the bruschetta for dinner tonight with a spinach salad. I would definately make again. I did add some peppers and onions (frozen mix) as another reviewer suggested. Really enjoyed.

  • Stove Top Alternative

    flamingolady52 - October 6, 2007 07:25:39 AM PST
Pepperidge makes a nice bagged stuffing mix. They have a few with whole wheat bread too. I think it has less sodium also. I haven\'t tried it yet but I want to give it a try.

  • YUM!

    kirbi7904 - October 5, 2007 03:50:37 PM PST
I made this the other night and my family loved it! I also added mushrooms and I used italian spices on the chicken instead of basil ( just b/c I didn\'t have any basil leaves). It was great and we will have it again!

  • not real good

    anesserrnz - October 3, 2007 05:53:49 PM PST
I know how to cook and follow recipes very well, but this was not a hit. My boys were very kind and did eat it, but no one enjoyed it at all. There was something in the spice that wasn\'t quite right, and it was very dry. The tomatoes were a little too tart, which may have been the brand. Maybe everyone that enjoyed it tweaked it a little, but I followed the recipe to a tee. I will have to read the suggestions.

  • SOO EASY

    Niki - October 3, 2007 12:49:47 PM PST
I\'m not the best cook, but this was so easy instead of using fresh garlic and basil, I just used the Hunt\'s diced tomatoes with garlic basil and onion in it. it turned out awesome!!! Thanks

  • really good

    megan_detray - April 2, 2009 03:33:41 PM PST
I just made this for dinner tonight, and it was so easy to assemble and cook. I even added oregano, and some fresh chopped cherry tomatoes that needed to be used up. Turned out really good, although our oven runs real hot so the chicken dried out a touch.

  • Pretty Good

    ammymomma - March 21, 2009 03:40:35 PM PST
Flavour of the Stove Top is a bit overpowering, but I kind of expected that. I also add a layer of fresh baby spinach on top of the chicken to add more nutrients.

  • Good Recipe But Needs Help!

    dezertlady - January 13, 2009 01:28:20 PM PST
This is really a flavorful and delicious recipe as is. However, If you\\'re baking it in a 13x9 pan and trying to feed 4 people, you need to double the chicken and stuffing.
The recipe as stated needs MORE than 1/2 C of water. The dish came out dry and crusty. So if you use two boxes of stuffing, you need at least 1 1/2 C I would say.
Also, I would pre-cook the chicken, lower the temp to 350 degrees and cover it with foil to avoid the dry crispiness. Otherwise a good tasting casserole.

  • mmmmm!!!

Beth McKenzie Chastant - October 8, 2008 12:42:46 PM PST
this was very good! i used a can of hunts diced tomatos with basil, garlic and oregano and also salted the chicken a tad. oh and i used some cornbread stuffing mix instead because that is what i had in the pantry. i didn\'t find this dressing overpowering at all.(one reviewer said that the stovetop was overpowering maybe this is better) i think my stuffing was pepperidge farms. i find it to be like a deconstructed and much easier prep version of chicken parmesan. at least it tastes like my chicken parmesan sans noodles. will cook again.
