Prepared barbecue sauces pulled from the average American supermarket shelf are too sweet -- corn syrup is nearly always the leading ingredient -- and too overpowering for the subtle interplay of lots of ingredients used in great Mexican cooking. Substitute, and this recipe might be a good standby for a quick supper.

people need to not take life too seriously.
is this a traditional mole? no. should it probably be called something else?? sure, why not. is a traditional mole possible to create from scratch in 15 minutes?? absolutely not.
maybe before judging you should try the recipe. keep an open mind, don't be so judgemental, and you'll live a happier life.

Mole is the SAUCE, made with chocolate and chilies. The meat used in the dish does not matter. I have seen many types of meats used for this dish.
In Mexico, the tradition was orginally to use Turkey meat. Now chicken is used because it is more readily available. Mole is NOT made with barbeque sauce.
My family thought this was just barbeque. It is "OK" they said.
NOTE: PIPIAN is another type of sauce. Usually pumpkin seeds and chilis are used with other ingredients to make that sauce.

I have not tried this recipe yet. However mole is right it is made with mexican chocolate! And it is usually served with chicken but I have seen it done with pork as well, I have actually made the red mole with pork and it was great. It all depends where you are from.

As a true authentic Mexican cook...I have to tell you that this is a joke of a recipe. If you are going to use our cuisine titles such as "Mole", have the class to use the real ingredients. Mole is a classic dish that consist of over 20 ingredients (none from cans) and is made with authentic seasonings and muscle. As for the meat to be used the traditional is "Chicken" and using other meats will only give the dish a bad name. There is no "quick" in our cuisine as we make our dishes with pride and authenticity. Anything less is distasteful.

Bar B Que Sauce and Mexican Food just don't go together. When I traveled north USA a few years back, I went to a Mexican Restaurant that put Bar B Que Sauce on the food, it was horrible. I think that combination is a Northern Mexican dish. Here in the South, it's just not acceptable.

You can save even more on ingredients and preparation time by using ready-made mole sauce, available at supermarkets in most areas of the country, or wherever Mexican food is sold. Please note that this recipe comes from Kraft Foods, which does not offer mole, to my knowledge, hence the inadequate substitution. If you use ready-made mole, you can skip the BBQ sauce, chocolate and crushed red peppers, and get a more authentic taste.

Hahaha
BBQ sauce! I am appalled. Seriously wtf who is falling for this?
It is made with chile and a whole lot with spices! Kart my ass. Most the ingredients are found in Spanish speaking stores. Believe me mole cannot be made in 15 minutes nor be 'copied' by some reciepe from the net. If you want mole- make friends with Mexicans. Most likely it will be made by an old lady either by abuela or la tia and or mom. The taste delicious the scarifice your tongue. You will a lot of napkins, tortillas, and water if made right.

Mexican according to who? I'm mexican and that is not even close to what mole is. Even the fake mole sold in the stores is closer to the real one than this recipe and let me tell you that that mole is disgusting. I'll stick to my mom's recipes, they're much better.
Perhaps, a mexican or someone who authentically knows how to cook mexican food should write these recipes.

This is one of the worst attempts to duplicate a great meal with short-cut recipes. This recipe is nothing more than a poor shot at advertising for Kraft.
NEVER, and I mean NEVER use use a barbeque sauce with corn syrup, molasses or sugar. Also one should never use minute rice for anything authentic. If you have taste buds that work, keep them alive and happy with real food.
You can not make a 15 minute Mole any more than you can make a 5 minute Adobo.
Scharffen Berger (99% unsweetened), in my opinion is the best chocolate or cocao for eating or cooking. It is natural and has not been dutched. Another GREAT addition to most any dish calling for chocolate or nuts are their roasted cacao nibs.
For good food do not take foolish short-cuts. For GREAT food you must never cut corners on preparation or proper ingredients. If you are one who just loves McDonalds, TV dinners or similar make-believe foods you likely already have Kraft barbeque sauce in your cupboard. For the rest of use who truly enjoy real food, we always do our best to make it natural and authentic. Follow this advise and your masterpieces will always be worth the extra effort.
Good luck and bon appetite (buena suerte y apetito bueno)

The best way to make this is by actually using MOLE sauce. If you can't make your own from scratch the best bet is "Dona Maria" brand. Mix with the pork broth left in pot from the meat and some hot water in the blender. Pour back in to the pot and simmer. This is much better than BBQ!

Sorry to disappoint you but Mole (black or red) is always served with chicken. The exception is green mole that can be served either with chicken or pork. There is a variation of mole called Pipian that is always served with pork. The another exception is yellow mole called Chilastle and that is served with chorizo, cheese or pork.
I guess it is necessary to re-write the presentation.
