Turn your weeknight into a fun Mexican fiesta with this ultimate quick fix burrito.

Notes:

Substitute

Prepare as directed, using lean ground beef or turkey and BREAKSTONE'S Reduced Fat or KNUDSEN Light Sour Cream.

Keeping It Safe

Place ground beef in the coldest part of the refrigerator. Often, this is at the back of the refrigerator on one of the lower shelves. Ground beef should be used within 1 to 2 days after purchase, or freeze after wrapping tightly. Be sure to re-wrap the meat if the original package is damaged or destroyed. When thawing, place on the bottom shelf in the refrigerator to prevent drippings from cross-contaminating other foods.

Picadillo is gound beaf with potato. Go over the border and you can buy it. They often use Picadillo in tacos burritos and chalupas.

Why do you calorie counters even go to this recipe site? Every time I read these reviews I see some calorie and or fat counting person telling me how bad this stuff is for me. I can read the info myself and I can certainly decide for myself what I want to put into my body nutrition-wise. Get off the couch, exercise a bit and you will be able to increase your intake of both fat and calories. But please review the recipe, not the nutritional value of the food.

  • TWEAK, How Say U?

A change on the beans, tortillas, salsa, and sour cream the rest stays the same... First of all, forget, that fake Taco Bell junk … Get the 7% fat ground beef, cook on no-stick pan. Wit a lil bit of pepper, seasoning, and garlic salt, chop the onions and bell peppers wit minced garlic clove. Add all that up, with a 30-cent can of low sodium Hunt’s tomato sauce, (that’s your salsa). Now get, a quarter pound of pinto beans (1 cup). Add in to 5 cups of boiling water wit quarter onion a clove of garlic, and 1 table. Spoon of salt. Boil on high for 10 min then let simmer wit lid tilted for about two hours drain exes been juice. I let been juice cool off then I drink it (gets rid of all the toxins, LOL). Smash the beans, non-stick pot. That way, you don’t have to use all that nasty stuff T. B. uses, lick LARD! Instead of sour cream use low fat cottage cheese, and instead of flower use whole-wheat tortillas. How says U?

  • Real Burritos

Wow, this is not how a real burrito should be. The real burritos do not use picadillo for meat. Real burritos use shredded pork, steak picado (chopped steak) and other meats that are not ground! Forgo the turkey and the chicken, but they should be healthier depending how you prepare it.
