Another option to add to this recipe is, if you add one pound of hambuger meat fried and drained, one can of mild rotel tomatoes and one can of chopped tomatoes(drain juice from this can).Adds to the number of people you can serve too.

  • Ditch the Velveeta

A more simple, and better tasting version of this dip is to use a brick of cream cheese and a can of chili. It's an easy one to one ratio. Microwave, and stir. It's done.

Beats Velveeta dip any day, hands down.

  • Needs A LOT of help

1 can of chili isn't near enough for 1lb. of Velveeta. If you only want chili with the cheese add 2 cans, but I would recommend adding more than just chili. As some other users have already said, a can of rotel diced tomatoes and chilis would also go well. Some Pace or other brand salsa makes this dip excellent. Much better than chili alone..

  • The Best Velveeta Dip!

    Scott - February 3, 2008 11:20:09 AM PST
1 lb. of Mexican Velveeta cheese
1 can of lime and cilantro rotel
1 tube of hot pork sausage fried and chopped in a food processor.
1 can of cream of mushroom soup.

Combine all the ingredients in a large crock pot.

    By far the best!
