  • Really Great Tasting Cranberry Sauce

    daverdbuddy - December 21, 2006 06:02:08 PM PST
While other cranberry sauce recipes have multiple ingredients including spices, orange juice, other fruits, etc. this recipe has just 3. It is the best tasting sauce I\'ve ever made. My entire family loves it.
When you add the brandy to the hot cranberry-sugar mix the alcohol evaporates off quickly- great smell. I have made this recipe up to 6 days before use and it kept quite well in the refrigerator in a covered dish.
My only quibble with the recipe is that the standard Ocean Spray 10 oz. bag holds just over 3 cups of cranberries, so you need two bags and you have some left over. This Christmas I\'m adjusting the recipe to take the 7 cups cranberries (plus there are more people for Christmas dinner this year).

This cranberry sauce was a hit! I used half the sugar so it had some tartness that was the perfect complement for the turkey and dressing.
