2. Cooking Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Brown meat; drain. Add seasoning mix; prepare as directed on package. Stir in 1/2 cup of the sour cream.
  2. Spread beans down center of each tortilla; top with meat mixture and 1/2 cup of the cheese. Fold bottom and top of each tortilla about 1 inch over filling. Fold each side about 2/3 over filling to completely enclose filling. Place, seam sides down, in greased 13x9-inch baking dish; cover.
  3. Bake 25 minutes. Uncover; sprinkle with remaining cheese. Bake an additional 5 minutes or until cheese is melted. Serve each with about 1 Tbsp. sour cream and about 1 Tbsp. salsa.

Yield: 6 servings

  • Easy Ways to Cut the Fat

    studyecon - February 26, 2007 04:29:01 PM PST
To address the prior critic's complaint about the fat:

    1. Use Ground Turkey instead of Ground Beef

    2. Use Knudsen's Light Sour Cream instead of Regular

    3. Use the Kraft 2% Milk shredded cheese...it will still melt

There are other ways to make this easy dish more healthy, including using whole wheat tortillas and add some lettuce and tomatos to the burittos.

All in all, a nice simple recipe that is far superior to a fast food dinner.

  • I liked it!

    Consumer - September 17, 2007 02:07:09 PM PST
I am watching carbs and fats due to diabetes.

Substituted fresh ground turkey, fat free sour cream, fat free refried beans, wheat tortillas, and a lowfat mexican blend shredded cheese.

As long as my family doesn't SEE the substitutions, they're good to go.

I liked the fact it wasn't too saucy and meaty!
I didn't like the cheese on the top....but that's because i am not a cheese person!
You will more than likely enjoy it alot!!
