I\'ve made meatloafs before but this recipe was a real tasty one. Especially with the Stove top and the BBQ sauce...made it moist! It was delicious!

  • Yummy but could be improved with a couple extras

Try using ketchup and A1 steak sauce. Much yummier flavor. I also add in 1/2 c. of milk.

  • Perfect Weeknight Meal!

    danielle1226 - January 23, 2007 03:42:45 PM PST
My family loved this meatloaf. All I added to it was one large onion and 4 gloves of garlic chopped (diced). I also added 1/2 cup of BBQ sauce instead of a 1/4 cup. I made a sauce with 1/2 Cup BBQ sauce 1/2 Ketchup and brown sugar to taste (about 1/3 Cup) which a poured on top to cook (I also reserved some in a gravy boat to be added after). Even my picky little eaters (small children) at it. The recipe is very simple and quick to the oven. I made it in a full size loaf pan so it took about an hour to cook. This will become a new family favorite!

i know kraft wrote this and is trying to promote its products, but kraft bbq sauce is awful. try using spicy stubb\'s or some other brand that specializes in bbq. better yet, make your own. also, try using a ratio of 3:5 meat to 2:5 hot country sausage. get creative, experiment.

  • If you think there is too much fat, improvise!!! Ignorance is only an opinion!

    Lisa C - January 22, 2007 02:12:50 PM PST
As a FITNESS COMPETITOR, I eat 1200-1500 calories a day. I cannot afford to eat 13g of unnecessary fat. Therefore, this meatloaf recipe for me would need improving in order for me to maintain a 30-35g of fat intake per day. Women do not need to consume 2000 calories to be healthy, more like 1600 for an average woman.

Instead of Ground Beef (very fatty) use 98% lean ground turkey, use lower in sodium stuffing and use egg whites instead of whole eggs.

Otherwise this recipe looks, sounds and tastes great!!!

  • No, meatloaf is not bad for you!

    Kayne P - January 22, 2007 01:51:30 PM PST
The nutritional facts state that there are only 13 grams of fat per serving. On a 2,000 calorie-per-day diet, you need almost 50 grams of fat per day. This dish in only a little more than 25% of your daily recommended value for the day. The above review was ignorant. There are very few foods that are bad for you. Just use elementary math skills and stay at or below your recommended daily values.

  • Pretty alright...

    Scott J - January 22, 2007 02:35:19 PM PST
While it wasn\'t the bext meatloaf I\'ve ever had, it was good enough to not dissapoint my craving. I\'m not sure why the one reviewer was complaining about the fat...really, the only source of fat in it is in the ground beef, and the recipie even says to use lower-fat beef. Not sure how much fat there is in BBQ sauce or an egg, but it can\'t be that much...
