  • 3/4 CUP Brown Sugar ;)

Thanks for the recipe! This may be the key to the "bitter" ending the review before mine experienced. Thanks for the head\'s up from the first reviewer!

WELL it looks like I printed out this recipe before the correction to brown sugar measurement was made. Like another reviewer said, these cookies turned out tasting like mostly walnuts with some DARK chocolate. Recipe calls for 2 cups chopped walnuts, but I would reduce to 1 1/2 cups instead. This batch I just baked seems completely disproportional, and is a waste of good chocolate (all grocery stores in town were out of Baker\'s baking chocolate so I had to buy the expensive Ghiradelli baking squares!!). I don\'t know... maybe I have a bad review because of the 3/4 CUP brown sugar mistake .... I\'ll post again once I make another batch.

If you go to the www.kraftfoods.com website ant type in the search \'one bowl chocolate bliss cookies\', you will see that the brown sugar is 3/4 cup, not teaspoon as the first poster above stated.
Haven\'t tried them yet, but they sound terrific and easy. (had to guess at the rating)

  • Sweetening Idea

These cookies look awesome! My boyfriend loves chocolate, so I\'m definately going to try them. Looking at the recipe, I was thinking maybe putting caramel on the top of the cookies (zig-zag design--just put the caramel in a Ziploc baggie, cut the tip off, and run it over the cookies while they are cooling) would make them a bit sweeter, and even make them similar to a Turtle\'s cookie!

I don\'t really get the point of reviewing a cookie you haven\'t even tried~

These were "ok." Not horrible, not great. I did use 3/4 CUP of brown sugar, but I thought they were too chocolately (and I love chocolate!). Basically a waste of some pretty good ingredients. I would not make these ordinary cookies again.

I really do not like giving bad ratings, but I feel that I must be honest. These cookies are very bitter. I think if you use milk chocolate, like one of the large Hershey\'s Candy Bar,in place of the Bakers chocolate then they would be much better. However, if you like dark chocolate then you may like these.

  • Modified the recipe - almost like a muffin

    tub001 - March 15, 2008 10:02:54 PM PST
I was worried about it being too chocolatey, so I did the following:
I only used 1/2 of a package of chocolate that I melted, (4 oz) and omitted the step where you chop the chocolate into pieces.

Then I used 3 times as much whole wheat flour (1 and a half cups), a little more then the required vanilla and the same amount of brown sugar.

The cookies were really different, they tasted more like muffins because they were fluffy and light, definitely not overbearing in flavor. It is my "diet conscious" version and it worked very well.

  • Very good cookies!

I will definitely make these again! I followed the recipe except for instead of using walnuts, which my husband is not very fond of, I substituted sliced almonds. I think it gave the cookies a wonderful texture and flavor.
