  1. 2 (8 ounce) packages BAKER'S Semi-Sweet Baking Chocolate, divided
  2. 3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  3. 1/4 cup butter, slightly softened
  4. 2 eggs
  5. 1 teaspoon vanilla
  6. 1/2 cup flour
  7. 1/4 teaspoon CALUMET Baking Powder
  8. 2 cups chopped PLANTERS Walnuts

Cooking Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Coarsely chop 8 of the chocolate squares; set aside. Microwave remaining 8 chocolate squares in large microwaveable bowl on HIGH 2 min., stirring after 1 min. Stir until chocolate is completely melted. Add sugar, butter, eggs and vanilla; stir until well blended. Add flour and baking powder; mix well. Stir in chopped chocolate and walnuts. (Note: If omitting nuts, increase flour to 3/4 cup to prevent excessive spreading of cookies as they bake.)
  2. Drop rounded tablespoonfuls of dough, 2 inches apart, onto ungreased baking sheets.
  3. Bake 12 to 13 min. or until cookies are puffed and shiny. Cool 1 min.; remove from baking sheets to wire racks. Cool completely.

Yield: 30 servings

This is the most luscious, chocolatey cookie ever! The addition of chopped nuts makes it even more decadent. A must try!

Bite-Size Cookies

Drop heaping teaspoonfuls of dough, 1-1/2 inches apart, onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 350 degrees F for 6 to 7 min. or until cookies are puffed and shiny. Makes about 5-1/2 doz. bite-size cookies or 33 servings, 2 cookies each.

    I just finished making these cookies.I love them .But didn\'t u mean 3/4 cup not 3/4 teaspoon of brown sugar.

    WELL it looks like I printed out this recipe before the correction to brown sugar measurement was made. Like another reviewer said, these cookies turned out tasting like mostly walnuts with some DARK chocolate. Recipe calls for 2 cups chopped walnuts, but I would reduce to 1 1/2 cups instead. This batch I just baked seems completely disproportional, and is a waste of good chocolate (all grocery stores in town were out of Baker\'s baking chocolate so I had to buy the expensive Ghiradelli baking squares!!). I don\'t know... maybe I have a bad review because of the 3/4 CUP brown sugar mistake .... I\'ll post again once I make another batch.

    If you go to the www.kraftfoods.com website ant type in the search \'one bowl chocolate bliss cookies\', you will see that the brown sugar is 3/4 cup, not teaspoon as the first poster above stated.
    Haven\'t tried them yet, but they sound terrific and easy. (had to guess at the rating)

    These cookies look awesome! My boyfriend loves chocolate, so I\'m definately going to try them. Looking at the recipe, I was thinking maybe putting caramel on the top of the cookies (zig-zag design--just put the caramel in a Ziploc baggie, cut the tip off, and run it over the cookies while they are cooling) would make them a bit sweeter, and even make them similar to a Turtle\'s cookie!
