  • my spin on the flag cake

Yes, this is yummy...but try this recipe!

2 tubes Pilsbury sugar cookie dough
    Cream Cheese
    powdered sugar
    butter
    vanilla
    milk
    strawberries and blueberries

spread the sugar cookie dough onto a large cookie sheet and bake on 350* for about 18 minutes (packaging says 14 min. for cookies, but since it\'s a BIG slab, it takes longer...but dont overcook it! You want it to be chewy).

cool the cookie and leave in the pan!

Make a filling using 1 block cream cheese, powdered sugar, butter, vanilla and milk. Notice I dont have measurements? Ive been doing this long enough I literally "eyeball" everything. Im thinking its about 2 cups of sugar, 1/2 stick of butter, tsp. of vanilla and just enough milk to make it the right consistancy. You want it thick, to spread onto the cookie after it completely cools.

Once the cookie is completely cool, spread the creamcheese mixture onto the cookie and refridgerate.

Cut strawberries lengthwise, keep blueberries whole.

Once mixture is cool and has set a little, assemble your berries to resemble the flag.

put back into fridge. Do not cut until you\'re ready to serve!

***I make this every 4th for our big party we attend. It\'s requested every year and is gobbled up by kids and adults! What a fun way to get your fruit!!!

    Hope you enjoy!
