  • my parents should rewrite this recipe!!!

i\'m chinese and i never saw my parents use 1/4 cup of soy sauce to cook anything. waaaaaaay too much salt here!!! you\'d be a sucker for Kraft if you use Minute rice. Fried rice is traditionally day-old rice that\'s stirred fried w/lots of goodies to make it taste better. In other words, you\'re reheating leftovers while adding some new stuff to it.

  • This is not fried rice

This recipe is for boiled rice...not fried rice.

Fried rice is quite simple and quick to make, but you are missing one key ingredient: COLD cooked rice.

I realize this recipe is from Kraft, but please someone check before posting stuff like this.

I also agree with the previous posts: too much salt and not enough ginger.

A basic fried rice is just the cold cooked rice stir fried until lightly brown in oil and ginger and maybe garlic, then add the eggs.

Veggies, meat, etc can all be added then...hold the soy sauce to a minimum or not at all.

Just WOW on the salt quotient! Check your labels because this has easily over 1500mg of sodium PER SERVING!

    YIKES!

  • Needs ingredients

How can you have fried rice without ginger? Finely chop a lot of ginger and heat it in the oil before adding the rest of the ingredients...otherwise your rice will be flavorless...Mixing in some green onions at the end would help too.
