  • Improve it with..

I\'ve been preparing chili this way for decades. I use LOTS of Cumin (4 Tbsp.) and when browning the ground turkey, I add Worchesteshire sauce to flavor it more like beef. Also add Paprika & Cayene Pepper to taste.

  • Healthy version of chili!

I love this recipie for chili! The ground turkey is such a more healthy version of ground beef, and with seasonings, you can\'t even tell the difference! I add different versions of peppers to add color and texture (red, yellow, and green) and the red pepper adds a sweetness to the sauce. I add kernel corn to my chili and I enjoy this dish in the summer and in the winter. Instead of using cornbread, I suggest using tortilla chips and adding a dallop of either sour cream or salsa for dipping!

  • Double Cheese Chili

    Rodney J - December 30, 2006 11:23:17 AM PST
I tried the recipe and was satisfied with its tatse, however I added a few extras to the already good recipe that made it even better. I added 1 cup of sausage cut into small pieces and five strips of lean bacon with a 1/2 cup of sour cream and a 1/4 cup of vinegar and a 1/4 cup of honey. I cooked it over a low flame for two hours and let it sit for 30 minutes. My co-workers went crazy over it and now they always want me to make it for them. The best part is they always buy the ingredients and I love to cook outside of being in law enforcement.

You can use Fat Free cheese. There are many varieties of ground turkey, such as 99% Fat Free. So this chili can be extremely healthy. So there is some research for you on how to make this recipe work for you.
