Raw tomato sauce with loads of basil can be tossed together in just minutes. Add spaghetti and canned tuna and you have a fine summer meal.
Variations: Spaghetti with Fresh Tomato Sauce Omit the tuna. The marinated tomatoes make a delicious sauce on their own. Spaghetti with Salmon and Fresh Tomato Sauce: Omit the tuna. Coat 1 pound of skinless salmon fillets with 1 tablespoon cooking oil and sprinkle with 1/4 teaspoon salt and 1/8 teaspoon fresh-ground black pepper. Broil the salmon until just barely done, 3 to 5 minutes, depending on the thickness of the fillet. Flake the salmon and toss with the pasta. Spaghetti with Shrimp and Fresh Tomato Sauce: Omit the tuna. Add 1 pound of raw medium shelled shrimp to the spaghetti during the last 1 minute of cooking time.
We've tried it with the salmon in stead of the tuna and we loved it. Fresh with the tomatoes and strong taste (may depend on kind of olive oil and vineager). Like eating in an Italian restaurant.

we loved it. it tasted great. itz pretty healthy and thats what really caught my attention. theres plenty of vegetables and the sauce is uncooked so the fiber remains. you can even put less salt and olive oil if u want to make it more healthy.

I made this recipe, but subbed oregano for the basil. I like adding onions for crunch also, but the taste can over power the rest.

This recipe was excellent...I added finely chopped green olives in place of about half the salt. Also added some chopped sweet yellow onion and oregano. Next time going to try some heirloom tomatoes and maybe some sweet peppers.
