2. Cooking Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. In a small saucepan, combine the soy sauce and ginger and bring to a simmer. Remove from heat and stir in the honey and mustard.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large nonstick ovenproof skillet. Season the salmon with pepper and add it to the skillet, skinned side up. Cook over high heat until golden and crusty, 2 to 3 minutes. Turn the salmon and spoon the ginger-soy glaze on top. Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake the salmon for 5 minutes, or until cooked through. Using a slotted spatula, transfer the salmon fillets to plates, garnish with the cilantro and serve.

Yield: 4 servings

3. Still Hungry?

Salmon, which is loaded with heart-healthy omega-3 fatty acids, is especially delicious when brushed with honey, soy, ginger and mustard, and cooked until browned.

  • excellent recipe

The recipe is straightforward and simple. I have never made salmon before, and I was quite pleased with the way it turned out. Despite preheating the oven, I did need to bake the salmon for at least 10 minutes- did not overcook it. I also left it in the pan for at least 5 minutes prior to baking. I had a Norwegian salmon, which was a bit thicker. I'll be using this recipe time and again!

I don't eat any meat besides seafood, so I find myself making salmon a lot- i love to find new ways to spice it up a bit, a this recipe was perfect! It was so easy to make, from start to finish it took about 15-20 minutes, and it was absolutely delicious!! It's also a nice healthy (but flavorful) meal- i paired it with brown rice and a salad. Yum!!

I made this last night and loved it. We eat a lot of salmon in our home and usually use soy & brown sugar or lemon sauces. This was a welcome change of pace and very quick and easy to do.
