Well Who doesn't love Krsipy Kreme doughnuts! I thought this recipee would be too sweet and too rich, but oh was I soooooooo wrong, I don't know why I didn't think of this myself this was so good! I almost wanted to make another batch right away after my children and my fiancee gobbled down the first one but only trying to indulge sparingly I decided against it, This will be our once a month treat. Try this recipee it's worth it!

    The Nutrition info looks accurate.
    That's 70g fat, 69g Carbs, 956cals Per Serving

Each serving weighs a little over 1/2 LB and it's mostly carbs and fat. Sounds tastly. Where does it say these are supposed to be healthy recipies only?

  • But what does it taste like?

    2Beagles - December 12, 2007 12:11:08 PM PST
Nutrition facts aside, I'm just wondering what this tastes like. Has anyone made this before? My husband loves Krispy Kreme and I'd make this for him in a heartbeat if I only knew what people thought of the taste. Let's face it.. It's a Krispy Kreme recipe. It's not going to be healthy.

why would you divide 70g of fat by the 18 doughnuts. If anything you would divide 70 by 8 equating 8.75g of fat per serving. but in any case, don't eat/make it if you think it's unhealthy, have some common sense.

  • Nutrition information NOT misrepresented.. users just misinformed!!

    Desiree - February 4, 2007 03:44:32 PM PST
Anybody with any kind of common sense would know that nutrition information labels are written for a single sized serving.

Don't believe me? Go look at your box of cheerio's or anything for that matter! It will say "single size serving" and then the information is represented for that product. What it doesn't say is "nutrition information for the whole box."

When dealing with recipe's it's the same concept. You get information for a SINGLE serving.

Plus, it's not like somebody's forcing you to make it and eat it, just like you can't force somebody to eat watercress!

So if you're not interested in a high calorie, high fat food item then this recipe is not for you.. go look up some kind of salad.

  • Nutrition information dilemma

    khrynna - February 2, 2007 11:41:06 AM PST
This sounds delicious, but I agree that the nutritional information is WAY, WAY, OFF. This is not the first time. I love, love, love, Yahoo!, but if you are going to give this info it must be accurate, otherwise you risk being irresponsible.

  • Review was correct at time of posting, and recipe is still unhealthy

    queen_of_destinys - February 7, 2007 10:53:15 PM PST
In response, yahoo has changed the wording above the nurtitional information to now designate it as the information for only ONE serving, but when my review was first posted, the serving size stated was for 8 servings. Which is what the recipe states that it makes.

Now I know there were comments about 'common sense' and the like, which is true people SHOULD have common sense, but let's face it, a lot of people don't. So if yahoo is going to post nutritional information, it has a responsibility to it's users to post the most accurate information it can. Otherwise, if it can't post correct information, it shouldn't be posting it at all.

As far as the tastiness of said recipe, I'm sure it most likely is tasty, but honestly now, bread pudding has more than enough fat in it without using fried bread to make it and covering it in cream. As msprimjob stated, it's my choice to make it or not, and I don't intend to, but people still should be informed that just because people review a recipe and say it's tasty doesn't mean they should run off and make it. Especially at 70g of fat per serving.
