  • Cuban???!!!!

I agree with Laura. Throwing some chilis and cumin in a sandwich doesn\\'t make it Cuban. Cubans don\\'t eat spicy/hot food, just food with a lot of flavor. I lived in Cuba for the first 16 years of my life and never had a chili, cilantro or any of the other stuff that\\'s really Mexican, not Cuban. Educate yourselves, will ya?

Where do you even get off calling this Cuban? What? You think just because you throw some cumin in the mix that automatically it\\'s Cuban? Dude, we don\\'t even eat turkey in Cuba. Get a friggin clue numbnuts.

Haven\\'t made it yet, but it sounds promising.

One easy way to make a pannini without the expense of buying the press - George Foreman grill! I bought a small one years ago (holds about 2 burgers) and I use that when I\\'m in the mood for pannini\\'s.

  • It

This recipe sounds good and I can\\'t wait to try it. I think I will like it. I might omit the mint because I don\\'t like mint, but all of the other ingredients sound good. It\\'s not what\\'s in the name, it\\'s what is in the ingredients. If you can\\'t afford to purchase a panini maker, than the idea listed is a good alternative. Thanks for the recipe.

  • this is a spicy turkey sandwich not a cuban

    rose - June 21, 2009 03:45:13 PM PST
cuban sandwiches were invented in tampa,fl. they were made for the immigrants that worked in the cigar factories. about the only thing this sandwich has in common with a cuban is ham and maybe the cheese.heck it doesn\\'t even have the pickle and mustard on it.

  • I dont think so

Since when do cubans use hot stuff or even turkey for that matter in cooking? You cant just use our heritage and stick it on a recipe name, and say its cuban! There is absolutely NOTHING Cuban about ciabbata bread or chili or cilantro. Sorry to tell ya.

Oh, and by the way, the \"cuban\" press, is a brick wrapped in aluminum foil!

I just don\\'t know about mint, cumin, and mayo mixed together. It\\'s sound weird to me. The rest sounds good though!
