Jajaj, so much complaining about the tortilla part.
Jeeze peeps, try something new for once, many hispanics warm their tortillas without a skillet, without tongs, without a spatula!. My grandmother , my mother, and I all warm tortillas like that, sometimes we do use the skillet, but not all the time, we always use our fingers to flip em .

Anyways, this recipe looks gross hahah.

  • Save your fingers -use a skillet

Tortillas can be warmed in a cast iron skillet. Use tongs - not your fingers.

  • More of a quesadilla than a pizza

    I love coffee - January 16, 2008 09:25:37 PM PST
I just finished trying this recipe. It wasnt too bad but it seemed more like a quesadilla than a pizza.

If i made it again, i would add slices of chicken breast

  • why toast it??

    witchy - January 16, 2008 07:37:33 PM PST
I love making pizzas all the time out of tortillas but I never toast it first. I usually just put it on a baking sheet, top it with sauce, and cheese, and stuff and toss it in the toaster over until the cheese is bubbly and turning brown. Sometimes for handier finger foods I will cut the tortilla into smaller pieces then sauce them up. yummy.

  • Want a crispy pizza??

I make these all the time with a slight variation... Spray the bottom of the tortilla with non stick cooking spray then top it with the toppings of your choice. Bake the mini pizza at 450 directly on the oven rack until the cheese is melted and edges are golden brown. Enjoy!

  • Questionable Preparation

    Mike - August 20, 2007 02:30:27 PM PST
This recipe didn\'t look bad until I got to the "toast the tortilla directly on the burner".... a common practice that is one of the worse activities in use in Mex Tex food preparation... let\'s not discuss burns to fingers, ruined electrical elements or clogged gas burners...it\'s way past not smart... tortillas needing warming should only be heated on a solid griddle.
