  • Great dish! Highly recommended.

    Cathy - August 1, 2007 12:07:23 PM PST
This was excellent! Spicy, so not for the faint hearted but so delicious I would not recommended this for fussy children. There was enough rub and mojo for 6 chops if you needed to expand the recipe. I will definitely make this again, especially for guests! I bet a cool mojito would go great with this too!
    Enjoy!

  • An excellent dish, we loved it.

We grilled twelve chops for eight adults and two are left. We doubled the rub and mojo, the rub was exactly enough and we just used two teaspoons of salt instead of three; we have half of the mojo left, so we probably wouldn\'t double it again for this many chops. We served the mojo at room temp. We will definitely serve this again.

i tried it with salmon instead of porkchop...it was a best seller, too!!!
Manila mangoes are the best to use for the mojo..

  • Great as a kabob

    lbnslc - July 8, 2008 02:00:55 PM PST
Made this recipe but grilled it as a kabob with pineapple, bell pepper and zucchini for a sangria party, the guests loved them, just watch the grilling time they can dry out fast.

This is by far my family\\'s favorite receipe. We made the sauce a little bit too hot, next time we will scale back on the jalapeno. I doubled the recipe and doubled the jalapeno. I should have stuck with one.

    Thanks!

Grilling pork is always the best way to go because you bring out the best flavor that this type of meat has!

  • Couldnt wait to eat the leftovers!

    momma883 - July 28, 2008 07:36:04 PM PST
This was awesome! It IS spicy...we used poblano pepper because the jalepenos are off the shelves now. I also did not use all the seeds and it was still quite hot. I added a whole other mango and picked out as much seeds as I could see in the puree. It was not "too hot" to eat but be warned if you or the family do not like it hot maybe add half of the pepper and no seeds. I normally do not like anise either but it was absolutely delicious! We are also going to try the rub on steak.

  • Excellent recipe

I loved this recipe, and so did my family. I served it with a big salad to keep the calories down. The next day my son ate the Mojo sauce with Tortilla chips thinking it was dip.

  • Not a MEAL

    Noreen - July 23, 2008 05:18:02 AM PST
Again, another recipe that claims to be a 300kcal - MEAL. A single pork chop is not a meal. Add the rice, a vegetable, the sauce, and you have something well over 300 cals. This may seem like a silly point, but for someone following a strict caloric intake, it is deceptive.

  • Its a pork chop

Surely you aren\'t suggesting that a lone pork chop makes a healthy meal . . . are you ?

    too much fat and carbs

or substitute dish with something less fattening like corn on the cob with no butter just steamed without rice

    raw mango slices
