    CJ - July 28, 2007 06:38:45 PM PST
well put together and sounds tasty
never thought to place a salmon steak
on the bun like a burger. I can still
have a burger and enjoy it while at
    the time it\'s healthy

  • Avacados.

    jessazenger - June 4, 2007 01:58:19 PM PST
Although they are higher in fat, they have vast amounts of vitamins, which means the fat in avocados (unsaturated) is a far better choice then most "spreads" you would/could use.

Also just a tip: Florida avocados are lower in calories and fat.

  • Wow - this is fantastic

    Patricia R - June 4, 2007 01:45:28 PM PST
I am looking for something different to do with salmon and this is it, especially for the summer - I would eat mine with some fresh coleslaw and spicy sweet potato fries because I omit the bun!

    rmxlina - June 4, 2007 01:44:04 PM PST
This is very similar to an amazing salmon sandwich recipe at an excellent Italian restaurant in New Town Square, Pa., but they dont use the avocado, another sauce or vinaigrette is used. Wonderful!

  • Fantastic Change For Dinner!

    takehomeahottie - March 10, 2008 03:09:27 PM PST
We served these at a backyard cookout! We had alot of different selections of breads, rolls, buns and other ingrediets to make it look like a buffet! We let our guests make their own variations of the "burger", however everyone said it was the herbs incorporated with the salmon that made all of the onions, tomato, avocado, lettuce, green and red peppers etc...all just POP with flavor! You can do so much with this recipe. A couple of our guests added cheese, cilantro and grilled ring of pineapple!!! The herbs and salmon are the TRUE guests of honor!!! Fabulous!!! I\'m thinking of making these exactly the same way ONLY smaller for brunch or wine tasting parties!!!!

The is a great meal and is very filling. You really don\\'t need a side. For everyone concerned about the calories, here is a way to cut a few. Use whole grain wheat bread instead of the bun. Also, you do not need to add mayo to avocado. In reality, avocado can be used as a replacement for mayo. Still super yummy!!!

  • Amazing!!!

    sjbfoto - May 5, 2009 02:27:41 PM PST
These were so good, and pretty simple to put together. I don\\'t have a grill so broiled instead. Came out perfect, nice and tender. Will definitely be doing these again.

  • Very good

    im_for_nixon - April 2, 2009 03:51:37 PM PST
I just made this recipe except I used a whole wheat tortilla wrap instead of a bun (I steam the wrap for a few seconds to make it moist and flexible). I also made my own guacamole instead of mixing avocado and mayo so it would be healthier. It tasted very good! I am sure I will be eating this again.

  • Quick

    Romster - March 29, 2009 07:04:37 PM PST
I made this for lunch yesterday - very good! I didn\\\'t want to mess with the grill so I broiled it in the oven instead. I only used about half the mayo with the avocado (since I think low-fat mayo has a weird aftertaste) just enough to mix and make it smooth. I\\\'m definitely adding this as a regular, easy \\\'go-to\\\' meal.

  • Oh, wow. This was great!

    ivorai - March 10, 2008 03:57:21 PM PST
I made this for a couple of friends, and it really came out good! I did omit the onions though because I hate them, but other than that I\'d have to say the avocado mixture really seeped through the other flavors. And it\'s filling, because after we ate we went out to skateboard for a while and we weren\'t dying of starvation after, lol.

  • Whach the carbs

    j-doherty@sbcglobal.net - March 10, 2008 02:52:56 PM PST
This is a great meal diet wise. The bun in the picture is huge and I would guess it is at least 23-26 net carbs. It may actually be 13 carbs, but just beware if you make a meal like this to be carefull in the bakery section when you are picking out the bread or bun. you could easily get this meal up to 50-40 carbs with the wrong bread. Or better yet have half a bun or skip the bun.

  • Very Good

    DooDoo - March 26, 2008 02:38:34 PM PST
These types of sandwiches are great .... but the fat count is too high it seems ... sure enough, avocados are the one fruit that is high in fat but indeed contains fiber and many added vitamins so, go ahead and indulge ... save the rest for some guacamole.

    earn78 - March 10, 2008 03:54:43 PM PST
You know sweet potato fries have much less fat and carbs than regular fries, right? Or are you a dumbass and didn\'t read the review properly?

    Super* - March 10, 2008 03:43:45 PM PST
When you look at the EatingWell website that this receipe was suppoed to come from the Nutrition Information is completely different. So which one is correct. Especially the carbs this site says 13g and the EatingWell site says 43g which is a huge difference.

  • Innaccurate calories-watch out!!

    mcfit4life - June 17, 2009 12:30:14 PM PST
This is definitely not 344 calories! Check your nutrition information! The roll alone is probably 200 calories.

  • Why ruin salmon with all that bread

    custom_homes - September 10, 2007 03:29:44 PM PST
If your going to all that filler use a cheaper cut of fish.
