  • Missing ingredients?

Uh, the ingredients for the "prepared spice rub" would be handy for this recipe. Maybe I am just computer illiterate and it is right in front of me. It looks wonderful though. I guess I could make up my own.

  • I need a book on spices for this one!!!!

"Let\'s see----what spice(s) complement dried mango----sweet ones, hot ones, just barely there ones? How about all three combined? But which spices are sweet, which ones give the right kind of heat complimentary to all of the ingredients and don\'t fight the other spices? And how about the..................."

It seems so rude to give such wonderful recipes without including the "secret" ingredient and/or additional recipe(s) within the recipe that completes it! Maybe the author does not really want others to be able to create such a snack having to share their "signature flare" and their blessings for duplication sucesses.

Oh well. I guess some do not know how to "really" share.

  • Definitely Missing Ingredients

    citygirlpz - October 3, 2007 04:26:55 PM PST
I agree with the previous two reviewers - it would be nice to have a spice rub recipe or at least hints of commercial or generic names. Also, the binding agent seems to be missing, otherwise the spices will just fall to the bottom of the bowl. A tad of a mild, neutral oil (think grape seed or canola or extra light olive) might work, and a tad of baking the whole thing would definitely improve the dish. If you\'re brave enough to make it as is, try curry powder, garam masala, various grilling rubs or Chinese Five Spice mix. The latter should complement the fruit and seeds well.
