  • It tastes great but yield is wrong

    CHRISTINA P - October 20, 2007 04:33:23 PM PST
The taste is great and reminds me when I was a kid and i used to mix peanut butter with syrup and put it on graham crackers. It says to "pat into 16 cookies" and I barely got 6 out of it. I followed the recipe perfectly, except for the raisins. Over all, it tastes great and only took a few minutes to put together. I could have done something wrong, I just dont see what it is. If anyone else has any suggestions please write them in a review.

  • AH YES, BOILED COOKIES!

    rosyboa@pacbell.net - June 11, 2008 05:06:42 PM PST
the yummiest thing in the world till you eat just that one more and can't look at sugar for a week... we used to be allowed to make them when the babysitter was over, because she was trusted with the stove but not the oven.

    BOILED NO-BAKE COOKIES

    1 stick (1/4 lb) butter
    2 cups sugar
    1/2 cup cocoa
    1/2 cup milk
    3 cups quick cooking oatmeal
    1/2 cup peanut butter
    1/2 cup chopped nuts
    1/2 cup flaked coconut
1 teaspoon vanilla or coconut rum

These novelty cookies don't require any baking. In a heavy saucepan, combine butter, sugar, cocoa and milk. Heat until boiling, then boil for 1 minute.

Remove pan from heat and stir in remaining ingredients.

Drop by teaspoonful onto wax or parchment paper and let stand in a cool, dry place until set.

  • NEEDS MORE TASTE

    BURT S - December 3, 2007 01:13:09 PM PST
I seem to recall as a teen, a recipe for almost the same ingredients. The recipe I had called for Instant Oats, melted chocolate, peanut butter melted together and mixed, then dropped on wax paper. Anybody have a recipe similar to this. Now that had flavor and was easy and NOT MESSY.

  • Good.

I tried out these cookies for this Thanksgiving, and made a few changes. First, I substituted mini chocolate chips instead of raisins, and cut the amount needed in half. Also, I tried a batch with oats. Overall, I got good reviews from them! Plus, it is super easy to make (if not a little messy...)!
