  • Fantastic!!! Will be adding it as a family favorite!

    DYLE - March 17, 2008 04:04:17 PM PST
I used chucky peanut butter in this recipe so to have the little peanut pieces to add crunch, it turned out wonderful!

Very easy recipe and the family loved it, will be making this a family favorite.

    Thanks!

  • Sounds good, here

I make something very similar... my sauce is a little different though.

I use a large tablespoon of peanut butter, a drop of sesame oil, crushed fresh garlic, minced fresh ginger, 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (adjust to your taste), a dash of soy sauce, a little vinegar to thin it out (either white or rice wine). If the vinegar makes it too pungeant try adding a tiny bit of sugar, or use cider vinegar. Once I whisk all of these together I taste it and add more of whichever is needed. (I hate measuring) I usually eat this with noodles like in the recipe, or on a salad. It can also be used as a dipping sauce for grilled chicken or beef satay.

  • Meh

    Andrew - September 13, 2009 02:00:10 PM PST
So i followed the directions exactly and the recipie came out a little on the bland side...also, the chicken took way longer to cook because mine was not pre-trimmed so i had to trim it.

Here is how i changed the recipie to make it taste better.

Instead of boiling the chicken, cube the breasts and fry them in 1 tbsp of oil. set aside before you do ANYTHING ELSE

in the sauce i used 1.5 Tbsp of Hot garlic sauce

    1.5 Tbsp garlic

5 tablespoons of soy sauce WITH THE SALT IN IT

i would also consider an extra bag of veggies.

after that it was an OK recipie as opposed to tasteless, but i still didnt care for it all that much. still eddible but not worth repeating

  • Suggestion for non-peanut-eaters

    dmvai - August 25, 2009 04:54:19 AM PST
This is a suggestion for the reader who could not eat peanuts: try tahini, which is a paste made out of sesame seeds. Something may have to be added/subtracted to get the same intensity of nut flavor, but it would still taste great.

Good recipe! And SO easy. I may just make the sauce every once in a while and keep it handy as a dressing for steamed veggies and/or noodles.

I would love to try this recipe, but some people in my family can\\'t eat peanut butter. Can I just take it out or replace it with something else? Please let me know.

  • Try This Version

    rpc1@sbcglobal.net - March 17, 2008 03:44:57 PM PST
This recipe\'s a oldie at our house. You can eat it warm or cold. My mom\'s been making this for us since I can remember. Replace listed veggies with some cold cucumber shreds, bean sprouts (cooked quickly and cooled in iced water.) and chives. Also, add a splash rice vinegar and Chinese sesame oil. Enjoy on a hot summer day!

  • I would try it!

    froggiedoodle - March 17, 2008 02:21:16 PM PST
Sounds easy and delish. I would probably omit the chili/garlic condiment tho. My husband pours that SIrachi sauce over everything!!!. Is that the same thing? :)

  • Horrifying

    jpjmiller - January 2, 2008 06:13:28 AM PST
I made it on new years and it tasted terrible. It actually made me sick the next day.

Peanut sauce must be cooked. Otherwise it tastes like the thinnest, weakest, most vile peanut and water soup you ever had.

If it was a choice between this recipe and starving I would eat the paper the recipe was printed on then starve.
