  • Perfect one...

    cellafella - October 5, 2007 06:09:50 AM PST
I already did the receipt and one word: DELICIOUS...
We had a meeting with our close relatives that night in the house and I, myself tried this receipt. All had gone !... I will try it again in this weekend, but this time just for me....

  • NOT a typo!

    Susan S - October 5, 2007 08:28:23 PM PST
BTW, the old timey word for recipe is receipt. Look who is showing their ignorance.
I have made this recipe many times with peanut butter instead of the tahini. It\'s a great recipe and the proportion of oats provides a chewy and flavorful cookie, much like a Mrs. Fields Choc Chip Cookie.

  • Get a life!!!!

    Belicious - October 5, 2007 12:55:50 PM PST
All the person did was misspell a word. Its so unfortunate and petty that you have to nit pick on someone else\'s spelling. Life is too short...just make the damn cookies already. Sounds like you need some chocolate anyways to put yourself in a better mood. MMmmmm........cookies :-)

  • Have your facts straight

    akutchi_sayles - October 5, 2007 12:08:14 PM PST
Receipt is still often used as a synonym for recipe outside the United States. Both recipe and receipt were originally terms for a doctor\'s prescription for medicine, often abbreviated to the upper case R with a slash through the right descending base leg, or Rx. Both recipe and receipt are terms meaning a formula or set of directions. Before you criticize someone, check your information. The first thing I thought when I read the post using the word receipt, was this person must live in Europe. It is also very amusing when someone criticises another persons errors with misspellings of their own (reciept), what a nit picking public we have become.

  • Good recipe

    Debi - October 10, 2007 03:28:52 PM PST
I made this for my friends and all of them liked it!

PS can people not write a review (and especially give the recipe less than 5 stars) if they haven\'t tried it yet!? I don\'t know why people do this..

  • tahini

    relleum1oakda@sbcglobal.net - November 12, 2008 03:47:15 PM PST
Tahini is an excellent substitute for peanut butter. For me that can\'t eat peanuts. Tahini\'s own special character is a plus. Even almond butter would work.

  • Yummie with a few changes:

    fullscreen32 - November 5, 2007 08:14:16 AM PST
These are delicious if you use peanut butter instead of tahini, but they are much too dry if you follow the recipe as listed. I recommend using two whole eggs, and few extra tablespoons of butter, and a few tablespoons of milk as well. And do NOT overcook them!

  • Healthy changes work !!

    lacy_dorcie - October 23, 2007 11:41:54 AM PST
Yes , I do think I could write a review about a recipe ... without cooking it ..... although I would not have the nerve to do so .

I have been cooking for over 60 years !!
What is the mystery of good food ... isn\'t cooking and eating food all very subjective ?

At this point in my life, I want to eat delicious and healthy food . I am amazed at most recipes and how unhealthy they maybe !! I simply make my own changes and adjustments , I never use butter or other fats .

The difference in taste has never been noticed .

I use healthy canola oil ... and reduce the amount of fat called for. Works every time !! I have learned to make changes with my sugars and salt too ... ....

If we can live longer, healthier lives . and not notice the difference in taste and quality of the food ... we are most fortunate !!

Learn to be creative and healthy too !!

    D.

  • Receipt is the proper and correct in many English speaking countries

    anna123452000 - October 10, 2007 01:30:14 PM PST
My grandmother always called it "receipt". You are the one showing your ignorance. Have you ever traveled outside of your neighborhood?
    BTW...this is a perfect recipe.

  • Not bad

    Ana Noah - December 4, 2008 01:16:19 AM PST
It\'s good, but not great. Maybe because I substituted a lot of the ingredients, so otherwise it might taste really great. Cinnamon makes them smell so great, and the cookies are quite chewy. I substituted pastry flour with plain/all-purpose flour (I was quite worried about this, but thank God it turned out fine), tahini with peanut butter, butter with 3 tablespoons of margarine (just because my butter got moldy), and brown sugar with plain sugar. All that because I couldn\'t find them in the stores. It\'s worth a try.

  • Absolutley the best recipe ever-- and I

    dastnt - October 7, 2008 08:27:37 AM PST
I have made these several times. They are so good--whether crispy (left in oven longer) or chewy--they are fantastic. They do burn easily so I cut the time down to 14minutes for my over (7 minutes before switching upper to lower rack). I use RF Jif Peanut butter instead of Tahini. Weren\'t as good when I cut back on the chocolate chips. I make them almost every week. Try em, you\'ll love em\'

  • These cookies are the best!!!

    Dee - April 15, 2008 05:51:11 PM PST
I\'m not one to write reviews on these types of sites but these cookies came out wonderfully. I read some of the other reviews and decided to make mine with peanut butter. They came out great! My fiance\' practically ate the whole batch by himself. He made me promise to make them again soon.

    I definitely will!

  • Guilt-free yumminess!

    Ruth Cole - October 27, 2007 02:32:57 PM PST
These are truly excellent. I used quick cooking oats instead of old fashioned, white flour only instead of the whole wheat pastry flour, and a soy spread instead of butter. They came out fantastic. If you like hummus, you\'ll like these. The tahini give them a unique and interesting flavor. Wonderful, low fat recipe!

  • Is the cookie good?

    honeydriven - November 3, 2007 08:37:59 PM PST
I don\'t care if cookie was spelled with a "K"! The important thing is, is it tasty. I haven\'t tried the recipe yet but I am about to. I enjoy reading the reviews so I can know which ingredients I may need to "tweak". Keep it up!

You go girl.... I cracked up when I read your "just make the damn cookies". I read the recipes on here all the time and once in a while read the reviews. I\'m glad some of you put that person in their place. No sense in what they said. Keep putting wonderful recipes up guys, they\'re great.

  • I hate you!

    adamwinograd - August 31, 2008 04:18:07 PM PST
Do you have any idea how completely patrice bergeron you are? You take a normal idea like "cellophane" and make it USA!!!!!!! COME ON, dogbag! Why are you so cranky when you answer the phone??? Okay bub, lets down to the nitty gritty. The oatmeal is very crackily, and reminded me of the underside of my grandmothers vag. As for the cookie, well its perfect!.... if you want to seal a driveway with it, you dirty piece of vixen! Do you have any respect at all?!!??! Man, you could have put in more chocolate chips. Those are hard to come by with today\'s current economy. Were you raised in an oven? If so, you may already by dead. Please take note: If I were the last person on earth and was about to perish and this was the only piece of food there, I might eat it.

  • to cookie or not to cookie ☺

    Franciscus v - February 6, 2008 12:06:24 AM PST
Sounds fantastic but not healthy, to my liking.
Too much sugar and too much butter.
And too much griping from some of the readers. Give people a chance ☺
    Cheers,
