  • Kids loved it!

I made this two nights ago. I have a 10 yr old and a 2 yr old at home. They are both kinda picky eaters and they loved it. I agree with the other review on this....definately make more sauce than what it calls for. It doesn\'t go as far as it looks when you\'re measuring it out. I served it with white rice and a green salad. Yummy!

this was written up previously, and much better i might say, by martha stewart in one of her quick cook recipe books. it\'s been a favorite of my family\'s for years. just goes to show you - what\'s old is new again.

  • Bake for 5 minutes?

    Nitzer - January 23, 2008 08:44:56 AM PST
Your Step 3 says "Transfer the pan to the oven and bake the chops until just cooked through, about 5 minutes. Transfer the chops to a plate and keep warm."

Is that truly how long to bake in the oven??

    Please clarify.

  • Tasty w/ added ginger

Great and easy - substituted fresh, minced ginger for thyme and also doubled the sauce and was happy to have done so, as it is good and not as much after reduction. today redid it with sauteed tofu and veg. Nummy.

  • Pretty good!

This was a really good recipe, though I did a few things differently. I did the ginger instead of the thyme, and I added a can of pineapple chunks and the juice. I browned the pork chops, put them on a sheet of aluminum foil, and poured some of the sauce and some pineapple chunks over the meat. I folded the aluminum foil, making sealed pockets, and put them in the oven (I used bone-in, but they were done in 30 minutes). I then reduced the sauce and served it over rice and the meat. The pork chops were very tender and really yummy- all three of my kids ate it (ages 4, 3, and 15 months) and enjoyed it. The sauce was really good. I will be making this again.

  • Yummy

This was really easy and quick to make. Like another, I substituted thyme for freshly grated ginger, but I also added 1/2 cup of pineapple juice...and baked the chops with pineapple chunks. Just a bit more liquid to simmer down, but served over rice it was awesome.
