  • Worked like a charm

    janus_104 - October 16, 2007 06:08:49 AM PST
I\'m a novice at cooking, and decided to give this a shot since my wife would be coming home late from work. To my surprise, everything went perfectly, and the sandwiches came out looking exactly like the picture! Not to mention, they\'re delicious -- the spinach, which I\'d originally considered leaving off, really adds to the flavor. Thanks for the tip!

  • Great

    Ahenfv - October 15, 2007 03:30:03 PM PST
This recipe is great. I personally make mine without breading and frying, though. grilling the chicken with a bit of olive oil makes it taste great.

As for the comment about the picture not showing a 1/4 inch thick chicken: A breaded and fried 1/4 inch thick chicken will tend to look a LOT thicker than the chicken itself.

  • This is Awesome...

Im a novice cooker and this meal came out exactly like the picture. It was so tasty. The chicken was not overly breaded or seasoned. This will be my "go-to" meal for entertaining.

  • Going for #2 tonight

    David A - February 3, 2009 02:19:01 PM PST
We liked it so much (and it was VERY doable) that I\\'m making it again tonight. I include/exclude the toppings as my kids tastes dictate, but my wife and I love the whole thing.

Thanks for up the pic and the recipe!
I\\'ll try to cook it. I live in Japan and wanted to make an American burger myself. Looks sooo yammm.. :o..

And, by means my own favorite taste, I\\'ll dip the other chicken in the teriyaki source as a final touch! xD So I can enjoy two tastes! x)

  • Great Sandwich

    jalean0515 - June 19, 2009 07:08:46 AM PST
I am a lover of sandwiches. And of all the ones I have tasted and made this one ranks in the top ten. The recipe was easy to follow and once the flavors came together the sandwich was wonderful. The spices work well together, although I added a little more spices to my flour mixture. I also did not use marinara sauce (because I am allergic) and it was still a great sandwich. If you like sandwiches this would be a great one to try.

  • Chicken Parmesan Sub

    VICKIE - May 20, 2008 08:05:31 AM PST
If all the changes that people are writing in were done it would no longer be a chicken Parmesan sub. If you want to cut calories write another recipe of your own to be posted. This is a great recipe for chicken Parmesan with pasta or in a sub. If you start taking things out of it , then it is no loner what it was meant to be,

  • Well enjoyed.

It\\'s simple. I would use this creation again.
People posting their reviews with their own twist on this idea should stop doing so. List your spin on this creation elsewhere. That way folks who try it can comment on yours.

  • Okay, but not as good as the real thing

    esfsayshi - June 18, 2009 10:27:12 AM PST
You don\\'t fry chicken in flower to make chicken parmesan -- you coat it in Italian-style breadcrumbs and either bake it or broil it. I also tend to prefer slicing some thin fresh mozarella to top the rest of the ingredients with before broiling because parmesan has a nasty habit of drying out when you cook it using dry-heat, rather than melting it. Pre-shredded cheese doesn\\'t have as much moisture as fresh mozarella balls, so it doesn\\'t keep the parm as moist and melty as I\\'d like.

  • Leave off the bread...

    CindySue - October 15, 2007 03:55:00 PM PST
..and have a nice side salad. The bread doesn\'t add to the taste, just makes it easier to eat....and veggies are better than bread.

I also left out the flour and slow cooked it in oil (but I used coconut oil). Much lighter taste.

  • leave the sandwhich to the NYers

    bubblemakersdream2 - November 4, 2007 08:45:44 AM PST
Hoagie? Grinder? It\'s called a Hero, and if you really want it to be healthy, then fire-grill the chicken breast. Frying it in other oils is just going to make it taste funny, so do one or the other, don\'t try and go half-way.

  • Eating Well?

    Turtle - May 19, 2008 03:48:11 PM PST
If you were to make this using a low carb, low fat Wrap instead of a bun and just use about half of the Parmesan for flavor and not the mozzarella cheese you would eliminate most of the carbs and a good amount of fat from this recipe.....And if you were to marinate the chicken and bake or grill it and not flour and fry it in oil...thus eliminating even more carbs and fat from this recipe....It would still taste Yummy with a hell of allot less fat and carbs.
