  • A great recipe!

    magoocas - December 12, 2006 09:04:39 AM PST
My husband and I have been searching for a really good sugar cookie recipe. This one is near perfect. We mixed the dough, chilled it and then shaped it into a roll. We chose to use the slice and bake method rather than cookie cutters. We didn't alter the ingredients or amounts. They were delicious!!! Not too crispy or crumbly, but just the right amount of chewiness. Our children loved them as well and had a great time decorating several for their teachers. We just needed to watch our oven temperature, and not overbake. YUM!

  • The Lil People Just Love It!!!

    Michelle B - December 14, 2006 12:50:45 PM PST
I love everything about it. Nice for Christmas Parties to get the lil people involved. They love to add the frosting and decorate with sprinkles and candies of your choice. Great for all Holiday occasions. We actually made a couple of cookie boquets for an anniversary table setting.

These cookies were ok. I have had better sugar cook recipes. On the other hand they were a really fast cookie to make and my kids had a blast decorating them. They wernt as soft as I would have liked either. They were just ok!

    touchofgrey56 - March 15, 2008 10:36:06 AM PST
This was a very easy recipe. My wife falls in love with me again and again every time I bake these cookies for her. I sometime add white chocolate chips as I'm placing the dough onto the baking pan.

  • read the nutritional info a bit closer

    wuciwug1961 - December 1, 2006 10:31:13 AM PST
to captgodin -- the recipe SERVES 48. One cookie per serving. Not 48 cookies per serving. The recipe makes 4 dozen cookies.

  • Incorrect nutritional information

    captgodin - December 1, 2006 08:23:36 AM PST
I doubt the serving size is actually 48 cookies. No one could realistically eat that many, nor would 48 cookies only have 86 calories or 4 grams of fat.
Hopefully the poster makes a correction so we know what a real serving size would be.

  • Hesitation

    Lisa Day-Lindsey - December 9, 2006 08:49:37 AM PST
I'm hesitant to use this recipe because it might have necessary omissions or incorrect directions. The reason is that in Step 2, the dough is rounded into balls then placed onto a cookie sheet. Logically, I know the balls should be flattened with a glass, but who knows? Also, I had to chuckle when I saw the serving size of 4 dozen. That's my kind of serving! :)

  • Weights please

    VijuJames - December 16, 2006 06:17:14 AM PST
Nothing wrong with the recipes but I do wonder when recipes from your part of the world will start using weights instead of measures. The cup measures for a cake for example are not accurate like weighing out the ingredients. There's a science to all that happens when heat meets fat and flour and the other ingredients. Here's hoping the New Year will see some difference.
