  • Looks Scrumptious

Calories can be greatly reduced by substituting lo fat/fat free sour cream, or better yet yogurt for half the sour cream; then of course, lo-fat cheese. Looks like a fun, tasty meal.

  • Great Recipe

The basics of this recipe are great, all you have to do is make a few adjustments and you have a great meal. Instead of ground beef, we used turkey. Lowfat cheese, and fat free sour cream. We also used wheat tortillas instead of flour tortillas. It turned out just as good as the original recipe, but with less fat and more healthy! Thanks for the idea my kids loved it!

  • Lots of factors. . .

    shalena00 - July 7, 2008 02:03:18 PM PST
I made this recipe, after reading a lot of the reviews. It seemed the biggest complaint was the amount of fat, calories, etc. And then I saw many other posts pointing out you could eat it in moderation, adapt easily, etc. . .Well, that's fine.

HOWEVER, if I am going to "splurge" for a meal, it would not be this! If this was super quick and easy, then I would probably have it again. Considering the amount of work that goes into this meal with a million steps on the directions it was NOT worth it.

I consider myself a fair cook, so I don't think I made any horrible mistakes, but hey, it's possible. . .But the flavor was lacking, the work was endless and overall my family was let down.

Keep searching for a better choice.

Besieged by diet ads this is refreshing. I don't think you would eat it that often, but everything in moderation means enjoying things like this once in a while.

1400 calories in one serving? If you're going to make this meal, definetly substitute where necessary.

  • too many calories!

    Veronica M - May 8, 2007 02:03:31 PM PST
Gimme a break! Why even bother when you need 2 cups of sour cream and 3lbs of cheese! Sounds like a heart attack waiting to happen. I would love a lower fat version of this.

O my gosh...1400 calories per serving??!!! What am I supposed to eat for the rest of my meals that day? Sounds absolutely disgusting.
