2. Cooking Directions

  1. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. In a separate bowl, beat together buttermilk, milk, eggs and melted butter. Keep the two mixtures separate until you are ready to cook.
  2. Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over medium high heat. You can flick water across the surface and if it beads up and sizzles, it's ready!
  3. Pour the wet mixture into the dry mixture, using a wooden spoon or fork to blend. Stir until it's just blended together. Do not over stir! Pour or scoop the batter onto the griddle, using approximately 1/2 cup for each pancake. Brown on both sides and serve hot.

Yield: 12 servings

3. Still Hungry?

A very light and fluffy pancake that requires fresh buttermilk, but it's the best I've ever made!

    Let me just say....

I just tried this recipe and I have never had pancakes that good!!! A must try for everyone. To the person who made them...I am horrible at math...could you reprint so it yields fewer servings....maybe for 4? I suppose I could take the calculator out but if you have a smaller serving handy I would love it you'd print it! Thanks!!

I have been searching for a great pancake recipe, and I finally found it.

I just made these, and they are incredible! Light, fluffy, great flavor.

Not everything tastes as good at high elevation as it does at sea level, but these are great here at 4200 ft. I highly recommend them to anyone wanting a great pancake.

This is a great recipe. I added additional milk (@ 1/8 cup), because the batter was too thick, but other than that we loved it!
