A classic sloppy joe recipe that has withstood the tests of time. Ground beef, onion, green pepper, and ketchup are seasoned with garlic powder and sweetened with brown sugar to make this hearty meat filling. Serve on hamburger buns.

  • Could be better

If you ketchup is all you have, then that's fine I guess.

But if your kitchen is a bit better stocked, I'd advised a small can of plain tomato sauce and/or tomato paste. Who really wants corn syrup in their dinner?

Also, I would use more bold spicing techniques. A goodly amount of Garlic and onion powder (fresh garlic too), black pepper, cayenne... maybe even parsley, possibly your favorite hot sauce. But to each their own in that regard.

One pound of ground beef. Brown it and drain it. Open a can of Manwich, dump it in. Cook it through. Put it on buns. Pretty darned good and it's good on hot dogs, too.
