  • AMAZING!!

    dancingstarr92 - March 24, 2007 02:22:46 PM PST
this recipe was the simpliest pancake recipe i have ever made. it seemed easier than most of the instant pancake mixes i've made and is 10 times better. the first time i made this was for Christmas breakfast and the whole family enjoyed every bite. the ingredients were already in my house considering that i love to bake and it was very simple. everyone can make pancakes especially with this mixture.

  • Excellent pancakes!

    Yvette M - November 23, 2007 08:26:51 AM PST
This is the best pancake recipe! My husband loves pancakes - I've tried recipes from websites, retail stores such as Williams-Sonoma, and have used good ole' Bisquick. This recipe is simple and I believe most people have the ingredients at home so no running to the store.

  • Not my type of pancake

    m_ellery - February 20, 2008 09:03:48 AM PST
I give it three stars for how easy the recipe is and how available the ingredients are in the average kitchen. But the recipe definetly needs modification. I used much more milk and the pancakes were still so dense and heavy. I like a lighter pancake, like diner pancakes. These were OK but didn't taste different than any boxed pancake mix. But if you just need something quick for the kids, my son was pleased.

  • Excellent Quick Recipe!!!!

    jrm.1008 - March 27, 2008 07:08:24 PM PST
I have tried MANY pancake recipes and this one has been the easiest! A teaspoon of salt seemed too much for my tastebuds, so I just used half- these pancakes turned out FLAWLESS! :) My picky 10 year old couldn't get enough.
Finally, a great pancake recipe without buttermilk! (yuck :P)

for the "good old fashioned pancakes" i also use about 1 tlb cinnimon and i have made these pancakes for years and don't even think about using a mix.and for those folks that don't make pancakes very often, this way they are always fresh.

  • Idiot Proof

    bigjewels3 - August 2, 2008 02:06:08 PM PST
Trust me - I'm no cook! Unless it's easy and idiot-proof, I don't attempt it. I haven't cooked pancakes for decades, and had a sudden hankering, but no recipe. Found this one, and voila! It is perfection! I had no baking soda, so picked this recipe because it calls for baking powder instead. The result was light and ever-so fluffy, and totally delicious. I cut the recipe in half and ate the whole thing myself - all six pancakes. Oink! :-)

  • Excellent recipe--agree about cutting down salt

    garnetgirl120 - July 12, 2008 08:10:35 AM PST
I promised my kids pancakes for breakfast this morning only to realize that I was out of my favorite boxed mix! I went straight to this website hoping to find a non-buttermilk recipe and here it was. I added cinnamon and vanilla to it as well and definitely agree about the salt, I think I will just omit it next time since I used salted butter. Definitely recommend the recipe with these changes.

  • Excellent!

    jenh94706 - July 6, 2008 10:05:18 AM PST
I thinned it down quite a bit though, and I used 1/3 whole wheat flour. Very easy to make and tasty.

  • Almost exactly like Hungery Jack Complete

    Brian O - May 26, 2008 04:00:27 PM PST
We decided to have pancakes for dinner and only had enough mix to make 3 pancakes so i tried this one. We had a side by side comparison between this and the HUNGRY JACK COMPLETE LIGHT AND FLUFFY. the only difference my wife and i could find was this recipe had a little more salt. I would cut the salt in half.

  • This is the first and definitely not the last...

    asiasjade - May 26, 2008 10:01:16 AM PST
This was my first time making pancake batter from scratch. I follow everything on the recipe, except I substituted "all purpose flour" with "whole wheat flour". I also added thinly sliced bananas (1). My husband and my (picky) daughter absolutely loved it!!!! Definitely will make it again....--Hollie, Discovery Bay

  • Great but I

    Nicolas S - January 31, 2008 11:29:42 PM PST
It's delicious! But it's too SALTY for me. I like my pancakes sweet, so I'll double the sugar and cut the salt in half from now on.

  • Perhaps to cut baking powder quantity

    Joseph C C - December 13, 2007 09:38:35 PM PST
I believe 3 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder is a bit too much, perhaps we should use a maximum of 2 teaspoons only.
