I tried this recipe because I love soft cookies. These were great. I added chopped walnuts and dried blueberries to mine. I highly recommend these for you soft cookie lovers. They turned out exaclty like they appear on the recipe photo - they have height (don't melt & spread out) and are nice and chewey.

These cookies are probably one of the best cookies I've ever had. Just beware that recipe makes a ton of cookies so if you don't want to make very many, try cutting the recipe in half but I definitely recommend making them either way. A++++++

I wasn't sure I'd like these, but they were great especially
when warm out of the oven. Highly recommended.

Here is what I use
2 1/2 cups flour unsifted
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup butter or margarine softened
1/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup light brown sugar packed
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 large eggs or 1/2 cup liquid egg (egg beaters)
1 package 12 ounce chocolate chips
one package instant pudding any flavor chocolate will make double chocolate cookies
1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
375 oven 8-10 mins
roll into balls and flatten cookies a little
I made these 2 times so far so good I even used that butter spead that comes in the tub it made the batter a little soft though so be carefull if you use that may have to place batter in the fridge before you make them.

Do you just add the pudding mix into the batter or make the pudding with the water and then add it in?

Whoever said these turned out badly when the recipe was cut in half must have done something else wrong bcs these cookies were great! Just the way my family loves them- crisp edges and totally moist, chewy centers. Yum!!
It is hard to find packages of pudding mix that are exactly 3.4 oz, however.

These cookies were devine!! Nice and soft in the middle and slighty crispy around the edges...must be the pudding mix? I found eight minutes was the perfect lenght of cooking time. Stayed soft for days, where as mine usually harden within hours. SO good!

I have made this same chocolate chip recipe for years with many requests for the recipe. However, my recipe calls for milk chocolate chips. It really changes the flavor of the cookie. Yummy!

When you make these cookies, use powder only. Do not make the pudding into a liquid, it will make a soggy mess!! One more thing, if you like your cookies to not go flat, NEVER melt the butter, on any cookies. If you use butter right out of the refridgerator, microwave no more than 22 seconds.

Hello there - chocolate chips are small, uniform pieces of chocolate. If you can't get them where you are, just substitute the same amount of smallish (no more than 3mm, I'd say) chunks of a good quality chocolate.
Hope this helps!

I really liked this recipe, i thought the cookies turned out really well the only down side was (which wasn't a major one) was that it's a recipe that makes 72 cookies!! thats a lot of cookies and ingredients! But, no worries because all i did was divide it by 2 to make 24 (which somehow turned into 30???) But if you were considering this recipe i give it an A+!

I don't have the best track record with baking cookies....My chocolate chip cookies always end up flat and crunchy...My husband usually makes me by the ready to bake cookies. However, these are by far the simplest best cookies I have ever had. They are cake like and simply fabulous. I really doubt my husband will ask me to make the ready to bake cookies any more......THESE ARE AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, I dont know where to start.... They are the Best !!!! I am a chocolate lover and most of all chocolate cookie person. I make them at least once a week and when I saw this recipe I had to try it. These cookies don't taste stale after 2 days. The kids loved them, we are mostly a natural/organic family and the only problem I had was finding a pudding mix that was natural in my local store. I'm heading to Whole Foods today to check it out. My husband couldn't believe how good they were. Also, note to make 1/2 the recipe.. I did and I had about 3 dozen. I can't imagine how the entire recipe would've been. When I noticed there was 4 sticks of butter I knew that was way too much !! Enjoy !!!!!!

I have used this recipe for over 20 years and everyone who have eaten these wonderful cookies raves about them. Try cinnamon chips and white chocolate chip for something different,

Soft gives more flavor, a sweter aroma, and melts in your mouth
Crunchy gives that big crunchy taste in a coockie. Any winner?

These are THE BEST chocolate chip cookies I have ever made and eaten. They do take some time, but well worth the effort. I will say that you do need a VERY LARGE bowl as this recipe makes a lot of cookies and my bowl was large, but not large enough and I had cookie dough all over the place. To help, I put the bowl in the sink and finished mixing them. The only change I made was to use butterscotch pudding instead of the vanilla. They were just great. Would give this recipe 10 stars if I could. THE BEST, Thank you so much for the recipe.

I don't bake. I can cook well, but have never had good luck with baking. I am a pre-made cookie dough addict, but decided to give a few of these recipes a try. This one was a HUGE hit! I loved and so did the kids and all their friends. The true test was my M-I-L who is a regular Ms. Betty Crocker in the flesh and she even liked them. Definitely a keeper!
