the recipe sounds very good, but, you should add a dash of cinnamon. this will work wonders.

I loved this recipe! I added some cinnamon to the sugar mixture prior to pouring half of it right in with the apples and then the remainder over the crust. My family is very fond of apple pie and this is our new favorite!

NOT true about cooking your apples first! I have made hundreds of apple pies without cooking first and I have not had hard apple pie. My family does not care for a mushy apple pie. Cooked but firm and if you slice your apples about 1/4 inch thick you will not have hard apples.

Made this for Thanksgiving, it was great, I think its very dependent on the apples you use, go to the cider mill and get some nice homegrown 20oz, or Northern Spy, Crispin are good too. It makes an impressive pie that is easy to make.

Break up a box of condensed mince pie into a recipe and a half for apple pie and bake two pies. These wonderful spicey apple pies are marvelous for the holiday season. Even people who don't like mincemeat pie will love them.

i see the recipe has nothing about spices. what is that all about? also-you should precook your apples before you bake your pie. if you dont? hard apples in your pie. its nothing more i hate. only good bakers know how to make real apple pie.
