1. Ingredients

  1. 1/2 cup butter, softened
  2. 1/2 cup shortening
  3. 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  4. 2 eggs
  5. 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  6. 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  7. 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
  8. 1 teaspoon baking soda
  9. 1/4 teaspoon salt
  10. 2 tablespoons white sugar
  11. 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

2. Cooking Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  2. Cream together butter, shortening, 1 1/2 cups sugar, the eggs and the vanilla. Blend in the flour, cream of tartar, soda and salt. Shape dough by rounded spoonfuls into balls.
  3. Mix the 2 tablespoons sugar and the cinnamon. Roll balls of dough in mixture. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets.
  4. Bake 8 to 10 minutes, or until set but not too hard. Remove immediately from baking sheets.

Yield: 48 servings

These wonderful cinnamon-sugar cookies became very popular with my friends at church. My pastor loves them! You will too! Crispy edges, and chewy centers; these cookies are a crowd pleaser for sure!

    These cookies are great... If you like Snickerdoodles give these a try! I am by no means a cook and they came out awesome! I would also suggest taking the cookies out of the oven a little before you think they are done. Enjoy!

    mmmmmmmmmm.........................I made these cookies in school in cooking class they are so gud cant wait to make them for thanksgiving................i rate these cookies a 5.0.

    A serving is one cookie, not 4 dozen. It serves 48 people there was just an error in how they worded it. If youeat 48 cookies and expect only 4g of fat, ur not going to fit in those pants for much longer. Other than that, these are the best
