Well considering that the first 2 colleges are private schools with only a student population of 2000 at most. Virginia Tech would be number one for the second year in a row if the list was broken up between private and public schools.

I don't even LIKE that fancy-dancy food - with all the special sauces etc. - just plain pot roast and potatoes, meatloaf and other basic good food is good enough for me.

1) The list probably PURPOSEFULLY excluded all culinary schools. Otherwise this list would most likely be dominated by them. So stop questioning the absence of the Culinary Institute of America.
2)These lists are always skewed. It is impossible to survey every college (community, city, university) so these compilations always are skimmed off the more well known universities.
3) That said, I go to Bryn Mawr and we have pretty awesome food. We had chicken kabobs the other day that were amazing. But when you're cooking for 5,000 people (undergrads, grads, profs, students from Haverford that know we have great food) rather than 40,000 you don't have the reduction in quality that is caused by mass production.

Why wasn't Michigan State Unviersity in this list. Consider the number of meals to the student population should have taken into count. The food there is awesome.

Cottey College, a two year women's college in Nevada, Missouri, has had a five star chef in charge of food services on campus for quite a few years now. He encourages all students, but especially international students, to submit family recipes and inserts these into the regular offerings to ease homesickness.
Miami U, w00t w00t! I mean, they have Clinton's (grilled cheese with a whole slice of pepperoni pizza in the middle. Only available after midnight). How can that not get you in the top 20?

This is a great post for those who must and do eat on campus. How about ratings for off campus dining? Best colleges for off campus eating options? Can we get a list going? More info at : uofeating.com and added tons of info on college towns I have been to. I live to find the best of everything. Hot dogs in Hartford: Rosco's Big dog.

James Madison University, represent!!!
My Alma Mater... yes, the food was always delicious. For a glimpse of the dining facilities... entree and/or dessert crepes, chinese food, sushi, other seafood, mexican food, cheesecake, pie, many vegan and vegetarian choices, sbarro, a huge salad bar... the options were endless. Everyone loves our main facility, D-Hall, which is a buffet-style place. There is always food from all areas of the food pyramid. JMU has pretty much anything you could want.

old dominion university food sucks. the dining facility has very bad hours if you take night classes (dinner ends at 8) and if you have a morning class it is not wise to eat before class as the cheap food will do a number on your stomach... odu sucks in general.
