I have an old glass corning ware hand me down with a glass top. I like to shuck and clean the corn, put a little water in the glass container, spray with a butter spray and microwave for 7 minutes for 2 full pieces, 8 minutes for more. Re-spray when done, sprinkler a little salt to serve. I serve in the glass container.

Boiling takes too much of the flavor. The best flavor preservation is also the simplest cooking method. Cook in microwave for 2-3 min. per ear -- depending on wattage -- right in the husks (hey, how much cleaner can it be protected by those layers of leaves. Simply shuck using hotpads. The silks even come out cleaner after cooking. Awesome flavor. Method two: barely cut tips from kernels, then scrape all that great sweet nectar from the cob and place the result in a skillet with plenty of melted butter (about a hlaf stick for 6 ears) and cook over medium heat 10-15 minutes. The flavor is even sweeter than fresh from the cob. Happy summer!

Being against pesticides and buying organic aren't just about what you put in your body - it's about what we put on the earth. Corn growers use more pesticides on their crop than any other fruit or vegetable. All of that goes in the soil, run-off water, and the eco-systems around the farms. You should not call your blog the "green table" because choosing to be green only to protect yourself is not what it's about.
