Getting here and reading that you are promoting processed snacks with destructive ingredients in them, after your lead line offered 'secret healthy snacks' is... just appalling. Mass marketers have been selling the public on junk food for decades. Low-cal, low-fat junk food is still poison! The fact that you do not even try to include any real food proves to me that you are just a marketer for a food corp.

I agree with alenacat4.... I do not do my grocery shopping online so if the majority of these snack ideas are not in my local grocery stores I am not going to bother. After shipping they will become pretty pricey afternoon hunger busters.

ever hear of a piece of fruit? a vegetable? beans? All of this (with the exception of the peanut butter) is processed crap. No one will lose weight and keep it off eating this kind of (expensive) junk.

all of the items listed are delicious! I order them online, just because our local stores do not carry any of these products.

you americans really are strange. In Italy for example people eat junky food, but they don't live on it. Instead you Americans eat junk food, you feel guilty, you get fat and then you eat even more junky food that's been labelled "low fat" while it's horribly unhealthy. Wake up! What about eating some vegetables and fish instead of all that junk food that's killing you? Why not trying some moderation? Besides, in America I found all kinds of healthy vegetables and fruit, and they were good. Then why do you stick with that horrible trash instead of trying those?

I totally agree with one of the previous posters. This forum seems like it's a promotional tool for these products. The concept of these "healthy snacks" is the same as "near beer".Beer without the alcohol is the same as junk food without the calories. Why not promote real, natural snacks like raisins and apples rather than these products that contain processed additives. Yes I know, even natural foods like fruit, vegetables, have whole grain breads have carbs and calories, but they are the good kind. Besides, if you're excercising you'll just burn it off anyway.

Has anyone just tried eating healthy? Low calories are meaningless if you aren't eating healthy in the first place. Who wants to have to order food online? Why not suggest foods that aren't processed to death and available in the local stores?

A lot of you are right...we should eat more fruits and veggies. Although, sometimes one has a craving for something sweet, or just plain ol' junk food. I think what HG is saying is that if you are craving junk, then try this healthier version...she's not saying eat it every day, and ONLY eat those things. If you don't like her suggestions, simply just don't use them...don't waste our time, not to mention yours, badmouthing HG.

Um if you don't like it don't read it or use it!!! I love HG since I started getting emails and trying some of the swap foods I've lost 10 pounds and don't spend my time craving foods. If your a woman you know there are times of the month when you could kill for chocolate so Its nice to have a friend thats lets you in on some better options. What works for some may not work for all pick and choose what works for you.

Just read the article and take from it what you will.....a healthy diet of course is better than substituting packaged "health junk food" but it may help those just starting out and taking baby steps.

HG is completely right about Gnu bars which are ALL NATURAL and fabulously yummy -- There are plenty of packaged foods that are all natural and healthy --I like Cabots 50% light cheddar in singel servings with Ak-Mak crackers right here at my desk!

Did not like the products listed. You can find many cheaper alternatives at most grocery stores. I looked up the Better 'N Peanut Butter - 6 bucks per jar. If you want to be able to pay your mortgage, this is not for me. I would rather scour the grocery store and find more creative things myself. Not an impressive list at all. Bob Green's products (Best Life Now) are better tasting and I have found things myself that work better.

So how much did those brands pay to be in this "article"? This isn't about healthy eating, it's about selling products. You don't have to buy processed snacks to eat healthy. This is typical "advice" from a consumer whore American: it requires trendy new products to eat healthy. Also, telling people to buy snacks online is just messed up and in NO WAY can be construed as a healthy eating habit. Why not tell these people to plant a vegetable garden? That way they get a fridge full of healthy food plus tons of exercise. If they live in an apt., send them for a walk at a farmer's market. Then again, its hard for the corporate thieves who run this country to profit on that, or you. This is a joke and an insult to ethical journalists everywhere. BTW- anyone who takes nutritional advice from someone without RD after their name is a straight up fool.

I STILL THINK WE ALL NEED TO INCREASE OUR INTAKE OF FRESH FRUITS & VEGGIES. THEY ARE THE BEST AND YOU'LL BE GLAD YOU DID. SOME OF THE STUFF IS OK ONLY IF YOU'RE ON THE RUN.

My thought....I know I am going to use sweetener in my coffee, so I use Splenda instead...If I know I am going to eat a muffin - how about a healthier muffin top? Ofcourse I eat healthy things...but if you don't want to be "healthy" all the time be healthier. Everything in moderation, even moderation!

The people who leave negative comments most likely live very lonely lives. If they'd get out in the real world and meet real people and try having a positive attitude, they'd probably stop doing it. Nuff said. Time to go meet some real people ; )
