POST A COMMENT »

Sure we love watching good acting and good story lines, but we also love to see our favorite actors get together. While you watch THOSE hot couples on screen, you can snack on some of Hungry Girl's favorite (guilt-free!) hot couples. Head to the kitchen, people!

Mini Fillo Shells + Snickers

2 Snickers-filled shells: 91 calories, 4.75g fat, 53mg sodium, 11g carbs, <0.5g fiber, 6g sugars, <1g protein

Here's a great little treat to whip up for screening party. Cut a standard 2.1-oz. Snickers bar lengthwise into 2 strips, and then cut each strip into 5 pieces so you have 10 chunks total. Set out 10 mini fillo shells, pop a chunk into each, bake for 10 minutes at 350 degrees, and VOILA! Delicious bite-sized sweets. (PS -- Let 'em cool before you dig in.) We guarantee they'll be gone before the plot twist surfaces.

Jell-O Sugar Free Vanilla Pudding Snack +
Ginger Snaps
1 pudding snack with 2 cookies: 120 calories, 2g fat, 285mg sodium, 24.5g carbs, 0g fiber, 5.5g sugars, 1.5g protein

Super-quick and easy, this is a great way to give your pudding some pizzazz. Just crush the cookies and stir 'em in. Part-ay time!

Rice Krispies Treats Bar + Smucker's Sugar Free Strawberry Preserves

1 original ready-to-eat bar with 1 tbsp. preserves: 100 calories, 2.5g fat, 105mg sodium, 22g carbs, 0g fiber, 8g sugars, <1g protein

Another awesome way to dress up a simple snack food for movie night! Just pick your favorite fruity flavor of preserves and spread it on the famous chewy marshmallow treat. Better yet, make a batch of our fiber-packed Krispymallow Treats and put the preserves on those!

94% Fat Free Popcorn + Tootsie Rolls

1 microwave-popped mini bag + 6 Tootsie Roll Midgees: 240 calories, 5g fat, 250mg sodium, 50g carbs, 3.5g fiber, 20g sugars, 3g protein

If you can't decide if you wanna watch the tearjerker (salty) or the romance flick (sweet), this is the duo for you. Just chop your chocolate into tiny pieces, pop your corn in the microwave, and toss 'em together in one big bowl. You'll have handfuls and handfuls of delicious snack mix to chew on. This treat gets two yums up and a standing ovation!

snickers candy bars contain either partially hydrogenated oils (a preservative) (causes cancer, heart attacks or strokes) or high fructose corn syrup (bad for the heart)(per AARP, etc. ) just google these.

OH NO!!!! Posters # 3 & 4, SAY IT ISN'T SO!!! High fructose corn syrup and/or partially hydrogenated oils in a candy bar??? Who'd have ever thought? Don't eat two bites of a Snickers bar. . .you're gonna DIE! Cause for panic, to be sure. (This is sarcasm, for anyone who hasn't yet cottoned on. Look it up).

Well I have to say johnn101259 is right. Eating alot of candy is not good for you, but once in a while is ok as long as you don't do it every day. So EAT UP!

Why don't you just eat the snicker bar plain? Rather than go through the trouble of turning into a fake gourmet snack? Plus you can keep the calories lower by eating them on their own! What about plain air popped popcorn with your own added seasoning? Or you can melt high quality dark chocolate over it (which is probably healthier than melting tootsie rolls into it.. .blech!)

My favorite movie "snack"? A big old mug of coffee, sometimes iced. Low-to-no-cal, and very comforting. (It does help that I am virtually immune to high doses of caffeine).

I like eating big rice cakes with sugar free preserves and cool whip. It's filling with low calories, but it's a bit messy because of the cream........

THE POPCORN tootise thing is disgusting man come on. Get plain popcorn and add whatever you want to it, i add salt pepper, drizzle some hot sauce. I also sometimes enjoy eating it with buffalo sauce. I also like making some low fat bacon, cutting it up and throwing it in with it. Sometimes, just screw the popcorn, make a baked potato.

For those who left comments about ingredients they think are bad instead of simply closing the window or not even reading the article because you know there will be processed food in it, I just got done reading this article on yahoo. And every time I read one of these kinds of posts on anything from recipes to ideas, to alternatives it reminds me of exactly what the article says people look like when they do that. If I wanted a nutritional critique I would call a nutritionist. 10 Ways to Tell If You're a Snob Supermarket Snubbing When you see a man tossing Pop-Tarts into his basket at the market, you get the urge to read him the list of unhealthy ingredients. You judge people in the checkout line by the number of frozen entrees and salty snacks they're buying.

john101259-- I did some research on HFCS(High fructose corn syrup) and this is what I found.. High-fructose corn syrup (HFCS) is a manmade sweetener that’s found in a wide range of processed foods, from ketchup and cereals to crackers and salad dressings. It also sweetens just about all of the (regular) soda Americans drink. HFCS used in foods is between 50 to 55 percent fructose—so chemically, it’s virtually identical to table sugar (sucrose), which is 50 percent fructose. Metabolic studies suggest our bodies break down and use HFCS and sucrose the same way. Yet, after HFCS began to be widely introduced into the food supply 30-odd years ago, obesity rates skyrocketed. And because the sweetener is so ubiquitous, many blame HFCS for playing a major role in our national obesity epidemic. As a result, some shoppers equate HFCS with “toxic waste” when they see it on a food label. But when it comes right down to it, a sugar is a sugar is a sugar. A can of soda contains around nine teaspoons of sugar in the form of HFCS—but, from a biochemical standpoint, drinking that soda is no worse for you than sipping home-brewed iced tea that you’ve doctored with nine teaspoons of table sugar or an equivalent amount of honey. Even Barry Popkin, Ph.D., a nutrition professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill who previously suggested, in an influential 2004 paper, a possible HFCS-obesity link, stresses that the real obesity problem doesn’t lie just with HFCS. Rather, it’s the fact that sugars from all sources have become so prevalent in our food supply, especially in our beverages. He scoffs at the “natural” sweeteners sometimes added to upscale processed foods like organic crackers and salad dressings. “They all have the same caloric effects as sugar,” he explains. “I don’t care whether something contains concentrated fruit juice, brown sugar, honey or HFCS. The only better sweetener option is ‘none of the above.’” At EatingWell, it’s our philosophy to keep any sweeteners we use in our recipes to a minimum—and likewise, to limit processed foods with added sugars of any type, including HFCS. We recommend you do the same. website reference: http://www.eatingwell.com/health/qanda/high_fructose_corn_syrup.html

Good information Mystic Fae - you're right about the bad rap HFCS is getting. It's all sugar & ALL needs to be consumed in moderation. And Misfitfan - love your supermarket snob comments - so true! As for the list - I don't think the tootsie roll/popcorn thing sounds very good either, and the rice-krispie treat w/ preserves sounds like too much sugar (I prefer preserves on a rice cake) but if you're looking at an easy way to change up your snacking, this gives you a few simple, quick ideas. Thanks, Hungry Girl!
