Top 4 Guilt-Free Super Bowl Foods

It's Super Bowl time -- one of the "snackiest" days of the year. But don't get sucked into sucking down bazillions of calories on game day. Hungry Girl's got some no-guilt Super Bowl swaps for you...

Bad Bites Gone Good

Recreate fun (and fatty) bar foods in the safety of your home. Football fans will be huddled around these Ooey Gooey Chili Cheese Nachos all afternoon. And once they get a taste of our Super Skinny Skins, prepare to be tackled (in a good way).

Snack Attack

Fried food is almost as important to football fans as the field and the players. Feed your friends safe options like our Fiber-ific Fried Cheese Sticks and Jalapeno Swappers. Or take it to the next level with our Bloomin' Blossom... Touchdown, HG!

Dip It Good

Big bowls of dip are a party staple, but they usually contain fatty goo like sour cream, mayonnaise, cream cheese, and more. We've got a bunch of slimmed-down dips that your guests will never suspect are low in calories. Check out our Crazy-Creamy Spinach Artichoke Dip, Holy Moly Guacamole, and Amazing ATE-Layer Dip. Mmmmmm!

Sweet Spot

After all that snacking, your pals probably won't need a huge dessert, but it's always nice to have something sweet to celebrate with. Around the fourth quarter, pull out a plateful of these Frozen Chocolate Cheesecake Bites. You can even add food coloring to the cheesecake base in your team's colors. Ooooooh, creative!

I appreciate what she's trying to do here, but most of these recipes feature fat-free cheese, cream cheese, or fat-free sour cream. All of the above are just nasty, and fat-free cheese won't even melt; it just gets sort of rubbery. Fat-free cream cheese tastes like plastic. Go for the reduced fat versions instead.

I agree about reduced fat as apposed to fat free! I LOVE HUNGRY GIRL, but sometimes everything fat free is to much.

The cheesecake bites are absolutely awesome. I have made them in the past with Fat Free cream cheese and they turn out wonderful. They taste VERY similar to a Wendy's Chocolate Frosty. HG RULES!!!

For the Super Bowl, it is not alright to subject your guests to anything but full flavor. There are certain days of the year where you really should not go the Hungry Girl way, and the Super Bowl is one. You can bring out the Hungry girl tricks on Monday.

Craig K, you are probably spot-on with your opinion; most Super Bowl parties are well-attended by men, who are not going to be satisfied with fat-free substitutes. It's pizza, real chili with real beef, and beer in most households. For any other snacking occasion, these are probably fine, except that fat-free cheese is like eating rubber. And it won't melt, either.

I am into fat free and low fat items; but, my husband will only accept having a small amount of skim milk on his cereal (fat free milk) My husband does not like the taste of fat free cheese, sour cream, cream cheese, etc. He can taste the difference and since he is not heavy he is not into watching his fat grams. I agree with the fat free cheese not melting right. I found also that fat free cheese seems to cause digestion problems. It becomes like glue in you and does not travel well.....LOL

Okay all, These are just suggestions and options for anyone who chooses to use them. Nice for someone to take the time and create it. Some of the choices are great and as stated some don't sit well with the palate and stomach. Pick and choose and make it work for you. If your into weight watchers, its great because of the calories and points. good luck all

YUM!!! I actually just posted a recipe for coconut shrimp (with flaxmeal) with orange marmalade dipping sauce which would be a fantastic "guilt-free" Super Bowl Party appetizer. Thanks for the suggestions!! Sheila | LiveWell360

I agree totally on the bad taste of the fat free cheeses, especially cream cheese. It's got an after-taste that is sooooo bad. Better to do like I do, go for the reduced fat type and just eat a bit less.

This kind od food is not edible outside USA. It is not common and used in other parts of the world as central Europe.

I eat just about everything fat free. It takes some getting used to, but after a while the full fat stuff just tastes AWFUL! Just go slow and that will help some if you can not go all out!!
