This is great! Much better than a giant oatmeal cookie. Any suggestions for low cal alternatives to soda (other than water)?

Check out Zevia a natural cola made with stevia now available at heath food stores and sugar free, also try unsweetned green tea add some lemon if you must have more flavor. Heathly To Go has wonderful Berrie and Green Tea Packets that you add to water for a low calorie low sodium drink

These are almost all heavily loaded with salt. You're trading one problem for another.

blah blah blah...i'm so tired of all this "eat this instead" crap. If you're not obese or unhealthy, then it's fine if you want to have some Doritos or a candy bar once in awhile !

We are talking about vending machine snacks. Unless you eat all your meals from a vending machine, then the occasional higher salt or higher carb snack is not going to kill you. People that are that concerned, usually make sure that they have their healthy snacks with them at all times.

Are these people out of their minds?? Take a look at the statistics that show the health of this nation on a downward spiral and tell me that it's a good idea to recommend that people eat this garbage - that it's OK. You've got to be kidding me. Very irresponsible.

have previously read on msn site that those tiny little twist pretzels are actually NOT a good snack choice and just how many servings are in an "individual" package, and how few pretzels are in a single serving?

What is this based on? Does not list sugar but then most things high in Carbs are high in sugar. So grab a 2 serving bag then don't eat the rest of the day!! You will have all the carbs and sugar you need!

A GREAT ALTERNATIVE TO SODAS IS TO BUY SELZER WATER AND ADD ABOUT 4 OZ OF A 100% NOSUGAR ADDED FRUIT JUICE YOU LIKE TO IT - ABOUT 50 CALORIES AND ALMOST AS GOOD AS A REGULAR SODA WITH A 1/3 OF THE CALORIES - WHEN PLAIN WATER DOESN'T GET IT DONE

Salt is not bad--your body needs it, will keep what it needs and gets rid of the rest. It's never been proven to cause high blood pressure and cutting it out only results in maybe a 3 ml drop, which is nothing. How about eating full meals and NOT SNACKING?

Unfortunately almost every food has sugar in it...so you can't really eliminate that from your diet. The only thing I don't agree with here are the Baked Lays. Those things are poison full of substitutes...if you really need chips...get the real thing.

kbny313, yes take a look at the statistics. This country IS the fattest in the world. Guess what? If even 10% of the people who are obese decided to start eating healthier and did go buy this vending machine guide... good for them! It's at least a step away from ding dongs and twinkies. Being a health food nut is not for everyone. Get off your high horse.

for overweight kids buy tasty cakes low carb and sugar free !!!!!!! sugar free jello only has 2 carbs per cup i think you should give them splenda and water if dying for a treat i do it and i have kept the weight off for 10+years. you have to do low carb and splenda instead of sugar and they will lose weight without being hungry. no bread or starch for the first month then 2 slices of bread per day no more than that. low salt too because more than 1000 mlgs. per day blows you up. for a treat on saturday edi's no sugar added ice cream but thats it. there is low carb no sugar added peanut butter. you have to limit their carbs to 20 per day till the weight comes off. there is no carbs in broiled chicken, meat ,fish, with a little sea salt and pepper to satisfy, tuna canned crabmeat , salmon mayonaise yes mayonaise i eat globs. i eat a plain 6oz yogurt with 3 packets of splenda before i go to sleep because milk products make you full , satisfied and sleepy. you will lose weight too because you can't eat junk in front of them. have them walk on the treadmill first like 10 minutes then more at least once a day. tell the kids they are not on a diet but we are changing what we eat and no more junk. this is a lifestyle change. tell the grandparents to do adhere to your directions so my children won't be fat. say it in a calm caring way so they won't get offended. in a year they will be thin !!!!!!!!!
